1975 Minnesota Vikings
 

What paints should I use for the 1975 Minnesota Vikings? Right now I am using Apple barrel and Folk Art. I have painted 5 figures, but can always repaint. I have the paints.
Skin Paints: Folk Art 462 Burnt Umber, Delta Ceramcoat AC Flesh, Folk Art 229 light flesh, Folk Art Outdoor 1617 Maple Syrup, Apple Barrel 20524 Golden Brown, Apple Barrel 20514 Flesh, Americana Flesh Tone, Folk Art 949 Skintone, and Model Master Acryl Dark tan (I added with white,) Miggle Brown
Purples: Folk Art 654 Metallic Amethyst, Apple Barrel 20595 Concord Grape, Apple Barrel 20594 Royal Violet.
Yellows: 20219 Banana, 20502 Yellow.
Blacks: Apple Barrel 20504 Black, Miggle Black Gloss.
Whites: Folk Art 659 Metallic Pearl White, Folk Art 901 Wicker White, Miggle White Flat.
Greens: 20529 Christmas Green, 20523 Kelly Green, Miggle Lynx Teal Flat (Added with Black)
Others (unknown if needed): Delta Ceramcoat Fire Red, Folk Art Outdoor 1631 Cobalt, Apple Barrel 20526 Country Gray, Folk Art 662 Metallic Silver Sterling
Other painting needs: Brushes, Clear Krylon Spray paint, Patricia Nimocks Clear Acrylic Sealer Gloss, Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane, Mod Podge, Model Master Acryl 4638/Gloss Clear Acryl.
Decal Setting (For Reggie's Decals) Walthers Solvaset, and Testers Decal Bonder
Oh: I guess you should know that I am painting on Reggie's Figs.



If anyone has anything they think I should use to create a really cool looking 1975 Minnesota Vikings team, please say so!

Sorry I cannot help you, I use another brand of paints.
You have to post up some pics when you are finished. The old Vikings are one of the best looking teams when painted up .

How do I post pics and I asked (at least I think) what you would use to paint them.

I use games workshop paints and put down layers of different color paints to give it a realistic look , that is called dry brushing . It is a different technique not used by more than a handful of guys on this site, but if you have a custom figure that is detailed this looks 1000 bazillion times better than anything else for realism. You can even ad some of the Met dirt on their uniforms.

Like, what should I do to do this dry brushing? Like an example, Any one else with answers please say so.

I should say if you use decals, there is not a cleaner look than that. Decals do look very good, just my prefered way of painting is dry brushing.

Posting Pics And Which Paints To Use
 

YOU are the artist. This is YOUR team. Find a picture of the '75 VIKES and match the paint to YOUR eye, not someone else's. Different pictures, different lighting, different eyeballs looking at the same pictures will give you different choices. In the end, it's YOUR team.

As far as posting pictures:

• If you have the picture saved to your computer, you can post it by clicking [Manage Attachments] just under your current post BEFORE you hit Submit Reply. Scroll down a lil more and you'll see it.
  
• Click on [Manage Attachments].
• A small screen will popup and you'll see several blanks with [Browse] next to them. Click on one of the [Browse] buttons.
  
• This will take you to your files on your computer. Find the picture you want and just move the pointer over it, but don't click it yet.
  
• See if it fits the size specs listed for its filetype, which is listed just below all of the [Browse] buttons.
  
• If it's within size, then double-click it. To add another, repeat.
  
• If it's too large, you have to right-click the pic and open it in your photo editor program, or Paint, which is what I use for MF pics.
  
• If you open it in Paint: hit [Ctrl + W]; then when the size box opens, you have to size it down by a percentage of the whole i.e. 80% length x 80% width. Type in "80", then [Tab], then "80" and [Enter]; if you can see the entire picture on your screen without scrolling left or right, you're good; hit [Ctrl + S] to Save it and then you can close Paint. Now you can double-click that picture and repeat for more pics.
  
• Click on the [Upload] button to the right of the [Browse] buttons.
  
• Then you can hit [Submit Reply] and you'll see your post with a pic attached!

Well, what I mean Okay I'm wrong I'll change what I expect. Can you people please tell me a brand of paints that turn out good on my figures. And a good white and black that turn out good, there thanks everybody, I hope for more responses.

What you have is good. When you paint with acrylics, you have to have a semi-wet brush. I have a container of water that I dip my brush in just before I dip in the paint. That thins it out a lil. Don't overwet it or it will drip, and you really don't want that. At the same time, you don't wanna go too thick either. That's how you get the "CLEAN" look, like those '72 DOLPHINS dallcow posted a while ago. White is white and black is black. Don't slop it on and it will look "CLEAN."

Personally, I use Delta Ceramcoat, FolkArt and AppleBarrel. So you're doing good with your paint selection. thmbsp$
