After painting I usually do a light coat of clear to protect everything. After that dries, I will then do my decals, I use a decal solution, Solva-Set or Micro-Set, something like that, most any hobby shop will have this. It helps in decal application.

I then clear again after the decals have set and are dried.

Finished.

This is my method.

so you place the decal on, and then the soulution over it, right?

You will find that most do this different

I paint the figure and then put on decals, sometimes I put on a seal before decals but sometimes I don't. After the decals have dried I put on a coat of semi gloss on the whole figure and once that dries I use a gloss coat on the helmet only.

what do i do if i print my own decals? anything special?

The Rookie 08-02-2008 05:05 PM

How do you print your own decals?

durham football 08-02-2008 05:07 PM

well, i someone told me i can print my own numbers, and put them on the figures myself.

bigdawg43 08-02-2008 05:08 PM

I can't help you on that one

since I have never done that but once you put them on maybe you can put a light coat of mod podge on before you gloss or semi gloss them. Some of the glossing agents can be kinda rough on the decals sometimes and the mod podge will protect them.

o, i was thinkin i would place the paper decal on it, put a little water on it to stick, then gloss. probably wouldnt work though...
