MFCA Teams
I have been thinking about this for a little while...and I was wondering what your opinions are about it.
Why don't we create MFCA Teams (11 figure sets like Miggle) and sell them? I think the creative minds are here to design the uniforms and paint the figures. These could be your "standard" Miggle type teams, only with better paint job and decals. I only say "standard" because I think going into more customizing won't be as appealing to the masses at first (because customized teams are at the wrong pricepoint for the masses). Couldn't we come up with the teams, enlist the help of the painters and customizers, and then sell the teams through ebay? It would be a great promotional tool as well. You could also sell the teams at events and tournaments. I am not looking at this as a big "profit" maker. I am looking at it as a way to reach out to more people, and in the process, maybe generate some more money for the association. I see lots of teams selling on ebay...and not all of those folks are MFCA members. If they searched for "electric football" and saw "Electric Football MFCA Tigers"...when they looked at the auction they would learn about the MFCA. Of course, the teams would have to be good looking. Nice colors with eye catching looks and designs. Something that a fan of Electric Football would see and say "those are cool...". I don't know what the financial implications of all this would be... But, I just thought I would throw this out there and see what people think. |
Wow...this is like one of those times on a TV comedy where nodbody says anything and all you here are crickets...:o

I wanted to respond to this before but I haven't been able to get my head around the in's and outs of this yet. One thing I know is it could not be a project of the MFCA proper as that would change our status as a 501c7. It would require a seperate entity running as a business to do this. At least that is my basic understanding. There would be definite legal issues that would have to be looked at. Now if a group of MFCAers wanted to go together on this and start up something, it would be totally up to them but I don't believe it could be a MFCA product. I just don't know how or if this would work all though it is an interesting idea.

I think it could work
I am willing to design and promote teams such as this at joxindabox.com. If involving the MFCA would become a problem legally, there are some companies on this board that have the ability to do just what you are talking about, with some of the proceeds going directly to the MFCA. It could work, IMO.

Maybe a decal maker
would be willing to come up with a MFCA set?
Neat idea Steeler! |
The other part of this that I didn't mention before is that the MFCA couldn't put its name to anything with NFL or NCAA logos on it. They would have to be generic teams and decals......or if 2000 members join the MFCA we can buy a liscense...:D...of course, there goes all the money to actually make the figures and sets.
