Coleco story

Coleco was a canadian company that were building table hockey game up until 1989. They sold millions of games, they had license with the nhl and there product were very popular. Then the computer games arrived and the company went out of business. No more good quality coleco games could be found.

There was league and tournament but they had diffuculties finding pieces to replace their games. There was a guy call Martin Labelle, that started to build very good quality Coleco inspire games. He did it in his garage. He save the hobby of table hockey, coleco style that is. No big company, no licensing just skills and love of the game.

There are stories like this one in the EF world. I personnally believe that there is no need to have an agreement with any league or big company to have good quality EF product. There are people around that already do it.

"Coleco was a canadian company "

"The reorganized Coleco sold off all of its North American assets and outsourced thousands of jobs to foreign countries, closing plants in Amsterdam, New York and other cities. In 1989, Hasbro purchased Coleco's assets"
Amsterdam was my hometown! We use to get lots of free stuff from a friend whose father was a manager at the plant.
