who likes this figure

coaches,

do any of you really like the miggle figure with both arms sticking out on each side. I guess i don't like the stance. Exactly what is it supposed to be ? I have miggle teams and i am having a hard time embracing that one fig.
it just looks akward to me, sort of out of place.

who likes this figure and how do you use him ?

thanx

Dre

I have recently turned a couple into a linebacker pose and am working on one as a down position lineman pose as well. I have also seen many interesting poses here which I am fairly sure came from that figure.

The Next One I Purchase...

Is seeing a Lighter, and a Exacto Knife.
Your right, the just standing around look don't look action packed enough to me.
And the Center with the ball " a new look to me ", that's a not ready player i'm not into also. I like the posses, but my imagination for balls in everyone's arms instead of the foam ball is for show to me. If all five player's are running down field with a football?, i'm sort of confused a little. I'm trying to create player's who can carry the ball " except the lineman of course " unless I can come up with the magnetic player that the ball sticks to the entire player any where on the Figure..

Great LBs

I always have envisioned those figures as the great LBs at that split-second moment the ball is snapped - flowing, reading, reacting. Plus I like to use them in the middle to plug run holes and they can always help 'snag' any of the opposition!

All my lineman and my center is made from that pose. If you look in the gallery/ team section and find the thread from mid-ohio , alot of those custom poses come from that miggle pose. It really comes alive once it is customized.

i have that pose as db's on my 1926 navy squad. they seem to work out ok for that position.

remember, when these poses were originally sculpted in the 50's/60's, they were relevant to active football at the time. "chickenwing" blocking was taught well into the 80's, maybe it still is, i don't know.
the point is, the sculpter just interpreted what he saw to be a natural pose for a linebacker or a db, and created the arms out figure.

It all depends what you are judging the figure on. If its looks then yes I can see where someone could question it. But as 513 & rollertaco pointed out it does resemble the linebacker at a specific point of time.
If it is performance then ...well I think this stock pose performs very good.
Thats the beauty of our hobby we can all create what we like wether it be a pose in the set position at the line of scrimmage or an action pose. While a line of scrimmage pose may not look the best running down the field the same can be said about an action figure in the set position at the line of scrimmage.
My main focus is on the combination of both.. good looks + good performance. I will give up a sweet looking pose if it doesnt perform well. But thats just me. So again thats what makes this hobby great. It offers something for everyone.thmbsp$

Imo...

...that figure, along with the tackle figure, are the two best figures as far as balance is concerned (I'm only talking fab five figs here). I notice a lot of guys use them as linebackers and DB's very effectively.

Nope, Nope, Nope...

That's not the figure im talking about?, I'm digging this figure on you all's pic's.
It's that new Miggle generation outside lineman that's looking kinda lost.
He's got that wide reciever look, like he's looking down the line of scrimmage..
I reshaped the right arm out like he's reaching because he did'nt look right to me just with both arms down to his side..

oh, that guy. yeah, i don't like that guy much at all.
