Clear Coat?

Mike,

The rules state "Coaches may use any original Miggle factory-painted stamped team. Custom-painted teams are not allowed. No additional paint, glue or other substance may be added to the figure. "

Just to be clear, you can not clear coat your players after the decals have been applied?

GUTTMANN 12-08-2008 02:09 PM

That is correct!

You can put names, numbers, chinstraps and facemasks on, and that's it. Since we're checking them in, I will be able to tell if there is anything else applied.

My understanding...

...is that one coat of clear coat is allowed. Has that changed?

GUTTMANN 12-08-2008 09:35 PM

Please read
3.1 FIGURES:

(C) Coaches may use any original Miggle factory-painted stamped team. Custom-painted teams are not allowed. No additional paint, glue or other substance may be added to the figure.

(D) Number, name, and insignia water slide decals may be applied to each figure's helmet, jersey, and sleeves in the proper place; so, too, may Miggle’s numbers, chin straps, and face masks be applied to the figures and be used in tournament play.

Clear coat is a substance, so you may NOT use clear coat. Which also means no gloves, wristbands, tape, etc..may be painted on. Sorry

Dave, please verify.

Confused!

If you are referring to nodave, he was the one who told me about 3 weeks ago that a single coat of sealant was allowed.

GUTTMANN 12-08-2008 11:14 PM

Then I'm confused too! LOL

I'll contact him to find out then. Thanks for the info!

Dave

How are we going to lock the facemask on then ?, ..... we should be able to seal up the names and numbers IMHO, a drop of gloss to lock them in should be fine,..........also you can easly hold the figure at an angle to see if dull gloss has been used on the whole figure.

P.S. Many of us are using teams we have used the last 2 years, my cats have decal names and numbers that are sealed up, Dave, ASAP let us know for sure so we can make the proper adjustments, (new teams) smile.

How are the decals and facemask supposed to stay on? If no sealer they will not be on very long. I hope this is allowed or I will have to spend out on another team.
