Indeed! Congrats to Darrian!! He won his second straight BMEFA title, joining Adrian Baxter as the only 2-time Super Bowl winners (we've only had 5 of them).
Ross's Ravens defeated my Broncos in a tight semifinal, and Larry Sharpe's Texans in the first round. Warren Jefferson's Dolphins made the final, becoming the only one of the 3 one-loss teams during the season to make the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl was a back-and-forth affair that Baltimore led, 14-10, at the half. Ricky Williams' 63-yard TD run in the third quarter gave Miami the lead, but Baltimore countered with a 52-yard scoring run three plays later to make it 21-17.
Later, in the fourth quarter, Miami took the lead again on a 57-yard touchdown pass to make it 24-21. But that lead lasted one play, as the ensuring kickoff went back for a touchdown to give the Ravens the lead again.
Down 28-24, Miami got near midfield, but on the last play, the quarterback teetered, tattered, and then fell down, sparking a mad celebration among little plastic Ravens worldwide.
Looking forward to August when our 6th season starts.
