Good thread Dre
Mine was my first tournament that I ever participated in - Buzzball 2006. I am in the second round and am playing Pat Morris. The game is tied 21 - 21 and it is the last play of the game.
I have the ball at midfield and need a TD to win the game. I call a pass play and I get my steadiest, straighetest running player (#21 Tiki Barber) open way downfield. In Buzzball you either use passing sticks to complete a pass and the receiver can advance or you replace the receiver with a target, use a TTQB to hit the target for a completion, but the ball cannot be advanced.
My receiver is open at about the 20 yardline (so using the TTQB is out). He is completely behind the defense. I set the passing sticks down and have the ball placed at about the 2 yard line. All he has to do is hit it and he will walk into the end zone.
Pat is pivoting his players to try to make a play but it is meaningless as he has no one near my receiver - no one on his team is in position to make a play.
As he is doing this I am nervously pacing back and forth waiting to turn the board on. As I am doing so the unthinkable happens - I accidently step on the switch, the board goes on and my receiver, of course runs straight and true and hits the ball for a sure TD. Because Pat was still making his adjustments the play is nullified and I have to run another play.
Of course, I go on to lose in overtime and am eliminated. I have no one to blame but myself.
Come on Man.
