Passing Rules
I use a customized chart that I made up with 30 different results. I use a 30 sided dice. When a reciever(s) get open I stop the game and choose who I am throwing to. I then roll the dice for the result. Most of the 30 numbers are complete or incomplete. The even numbers are usually complete and the odd numbers incomplete. If the pass is complete I then turn the 5 closest defenders who are not engaged towards the reciever(I stop the clock as I do this) I then restart the game and see what happens. If he is tackled I roll the dice one more time. If it comes up a 1 the reciever fumbled the ball and then go to my recovery chart. If the roll comes up a 13 there was a penalty on the play and I go to my penalty chart. If I roll a 30 it is a fumble and again I go to the recovery chart. This is my video review number. If the fumble is recovered by the defense the offense may challenge the call on the field. I simply roll the dice one more time. If it comes up evens the call is reversed and the reciever is down by contact. If it comes up odd the play stands and the offense is charged a timeout. If the runner scores or runs out of bounds this rule does not apply and its simply a completed pass. The reciever must be tackled for the challenge play to go into effect. If the offense recovers the fumble ther is no need to challenge.
This is just one of many situational results I've created on the chart. I try to incorporate every possible thing that could happen in a game on my result charts. I may only get a strange play once in awile. It is as random as a real game when these things happen. The best thing about it is you can make the results as simple or complex as you want. When I was a kid I just used a standard 6 sided dice. 2,4,6 were complete. 3 & 5 were incomplete and 1 was an interception. If you want more info about my results charts let me know. I will gladly share my results charts with any MFCA member. I sometimes add or delete a result if something I discover is not covered on the chart.
