Sasquatch Win Is A Gas-Gas-Gas
The Germans have their mustard gas, but the Sasquatch have something twice as effective and just as deadly as Badgas caught 4 passes for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 28-17 victory that clinched the North Division title for the Canadians. The Sasquatch defense put the clamps on the Third Reich running game, holding them to a season low 12 yards rushing. Wilhelm Klink had to throw it often, and finished 13-20-1 for 188 yards and a TD.
The game started off in the Germans favor when Grog fumbled the ball away on his second carry of the day at the Sasquatch 35. Klink found Willie Wolf open in the end zone to cap a 7 play, 35 yard drive. The big foot team bounced back on the very next play when Stinkwater hit Badgas on a 60 yard bomb to make it 7-7. A Franz Schultz field goal gave Munich it’s last lead of the game at 10-7 to end the first quarter. Stinkwater led the ’Quatch on a 10 play, 72 yard march that ended on Badgas’ second TD reception to make it 14-10 at the half.
Muckman scored the only points of the 3rd quarter on a 5 yard dive to make it 21-10 Canada. Trotter came in to relieve Muckman in the 4th quarter and scored on a 33 yard run to make it 28-10. Richard Meier took the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for the final score, 28-17.
Grog had 111 yards on 11 carries for Canada while Peter Becker caught 3 passes for 59 yards to lead Munich. On defense, Shorty had 3 tackles and a sack and Too Tall had an interception for the Sasquatch. Albert ‘General’ Burkhalter had 4 tackles and a sack for the Reich.
Wolf, #25, catches a TD pass in the corner of the end zone over Gopher, #39
