This is something that is being considered...
as my hope is to bring solitaire coaches into the forefront. One thing that MantarayeDre and I have discussed is that since this is a Shootout event, the basis of the rules should have some flava of the Shootout spirit.
I like that to an extent but I want coaches to be free to use what has made them successful and continued to have interest in the game, which is their own ruleset.
The college and pro divisions will be strictly Shootout rulesets (one for pro and the other college) and those will be handled by Michael Robertson and myself, respectively. MantarayDre will be the administer of the solitaire division and I know he would love your insight on rule selection. The thing is that the ruleset should be based on those who are coming to participate. It's nice when guys want to help in creating rules, but we want the people especially who will invest their time to come here and participate.
I kinda like something like a random draw from the various rulesets and 1-hour running clock games must be played, using someone else teams. Just a thought???
This is why public steering is needed. We all know how we play but it helps to have steering of the rules and suggestion.
