BTower, When Chicago11 Calls
You've got to make the dream come true. I have been privileged to do Wrigley and Yankee Stadium in two of my latest projects. These are historic monuments that I always wanted to visit. I've driven by each one of these stadiums but never got to go in.
I remember Wrigley on TV when I was young. I saw Ernie Banks do his thing in the outfield and never thought I could bring Chicago to me. I remember Reggie Jackson in the 70's doing his thing and wondered about the drama going from Oakland to being a Bronx Bomber. Always wanted to go to that stadium.
I guess the next best thing that I can do is bring these great venues to me. Wrigley may be a dump when you stay across the street from it but when you live 400 and 600 miles away, you appreciate the natural beauty of these monuments. It's kinda like Texas Stadium. Knowing when it opened and having officiated at that stadium, it was not cracked up what I thought it would be but it still remains a hot spot for many who love the NFL.
For me, I am so happy Arlington is the site of the new stadium but the magic that Texas Stadium had will never be lost. They are talking about turning it into some type of eco-environmental residential city once the Cowboys leave.
