Horse collar is a good rule
Its a good rule. Just like the facemask penalty rule is a good rule. Just like no chop blocking an engaged d-lineman is a good rule. Just like clipping is a good rule. These rules protect players from known occurances that have a high rate of major injury without taking away from the spirit of the game.
For Roy Williams the horse collar tackle is just instinctual, and now that its a penalty its like a bad habit. Doesn't mean he's a bad guy or a bad player.
