Yes, Superglue was the first one I tried, they even have a two part glue called Plastic Fusion, tried that to no avail as well. I picked up about six different glues in all to date and they all look promising but the two halves will split apart very easily, nothing is holding.

Next is to try some good old fashioned heat with some extra plastic shavings from a dial and try a "soldering" type technique and see how that goes.
