Default Since My Name Was Brought Into ...

the mix Mike, I will respond.

Broncoman (Mike), I don't think the hobby is divided. I think if anything, it is more united than it ever has been. The weight issue really is not a big deal. As a matter of fact, it's really small. Like all the other issues that divide us, this can easily be fixed by what is voted on in your league. Now if you have a problem with how things go in the vote, that's a problem that you and your leaguemates have to iron out.

But I think coaches are playing happily throughout the country, whether it be with a 3.2 gram system or 4.0 gram system. For example, the GLEFL plays at 3.2 grams and they are very happy. The LAEFL plays at 3.2 grams and are very happy. The DFW plays at 4.0 grams and are very happy.

Just like the different rule set, you visit the place where caters to what you want to play. If you think we are ever going to have total harmony of one rule set whether it be Shootout System, Strategy Divider, Rules 2000, etc., you must not be doing your homework. Since the beginning of time, people have learned to coexist for the betterment of mankind. This is no different!

The question I would have for you, who at every turn, seem to be a skeptic of 4.0 grams. Have you ever played under that weight scale? Have you played under it for any length of time? Do you honestly have a team that is 4.0 grams? If you can in earnest say that you have, you argue this point with factual information. But if you don't have such a team, how can you with all good conscious argue the facts.

This subject of weight is no different than boiled vs. non-boiled, TTQB vs. Pass Simulation, Clocks vs. Plays, Custom vs. Stock, etc. The tournaments will set the standards that they wish to play under and all that enjoy those options will attend those tournaments. Now, at least you have choices.

I know the differences in the 3.2 and 4.0 gram teams. There are vast differences but many similarities. If both teams play at the same weight, it makes no difference, the coach that does the best job of execution will win the game.

Broncoman, I understand the investment you make electric football equipment. I made it too! Probably more than most have and would ever make. My investments I thought were for the benefit of the game and for 13 years on these sites, I have fought for changes when others would sit idly by just going with status quo. Miggle stamped helmets came about because I wrote on their board once about the "lack of quality and that EFLers were zombies willing to settle for anything". I got a letter from Miggle about my post but they later changed their helmet teams. No one bothered to complain that they had to spend more for those.

I know change is scary but no one is personally telling you that you have to change! That's your prerrogative. It should not divide you and I from being friends. We still will be 'boys. If you had a tournament in Vegas and I found it appealed to what I like, then I definitely would come. It's a matter of dollars and sense for me now, not 3.2 or 4.0.
