Default An idea!

What I've learned in the month and a half since I rejoined the hobby is that the hobbyist falls into at least 3 areas, collectors, competitors (those that love playing), and creators (those that customize). Many fall into all three areas. I thing MF needs to market to those that may fall into any or all of those areas...you know...target marketing. A newspaper article peeked my interest and led me to the Miggle convention in Michigan...and here I am today. A well placed article in magazines, newspapers and websites could go a long way in getting the word out. I've learned on this forum of the many tournaments and leagues around the country. Does the general public know about them? What about advertising some serious customizing competitions? Also, get the kids involved. One of the great things at the convention I went to were the families that where there. This needs to continue. Someone on another thread mentioned hosting games at local sports bars. I think that is a great place for PR but why not add having them at local youth centers, exhibitions for the Boy/Girl Scouts, Junior football leagues, etc. And of course, last but not least, word of mouth. Tell a friend about it.
