Good post Coach K-Lo. As of now I am the only EF coach in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have never won a title so I will get that out of the way first. However I have played in one tournament that being the 2007 Seawall Brawl and I plan to play again this year. So here is how I am building my team.
I am starting with the bread and butter that being the defensive front seven and my front five up front on offense. In my way of thinking if my front seven on defense can't at least neutralize my opponents front five then the game is pretty much over. I make sure that my safeties have speed in order to chase down a speedy WR. Still if my DL and blitzing OLB's can get pressure then I have won half the battle. I also like to make sure that my weakside LB is on a fast looping base to pressure the QB similar to what LT did for years. As for offense I am one who likes to run and thus my front five have to hold there blocks in order for my backs to make yards. As for speed I like to have my fastest men on my KO coverage. As was said earlier a lot of coaches overlook special teams play. Yes it is good to have fast WR's and RB's but I prefer my fastest men be on KO coverage. My opinion is offense brings fans to the stadium, defense wins games, and special teams win championships.
