I was taking a retrospective look at where the Electric Coach has come from and where the Coach is now. The Electric Coach has evolved since 2002. Thoughts about this hobby constantly race through my mind. What is my position in this hobby? Will going on tour set the seal on my identity and existence in this hobby? Will the hobby embrace or ignore me if I travel to there city or town? Perhaps I could host a tournament.

I gave Norbert Revels a call. He said to me, “Keep doing what you do. You are recognized.” I told him about the latest YouTube videos that I uploaded. He was surprised because he hadn’t been on the message board in a while. Another coach said similar things to me in the past.

My phone rang; the caller ID read Jamal Lockhart. He was returning my call from a day ago. We talked about the all around attitude of the hobby. I expressed to him my feelings concerning my acceptance in the hobby. I also shared some of my ideas with him. The ideas that I talked about were a tour, and possibly hosting a tournament of my own.

Basically, the tour is a plan that involves my going out to different leagues and/or tournaments. There I will interview coaches on camera and get video action from different tables. All of the video that I capture from the tour will be put into a video production. As far as a tournament is concerned, that speaks for itself. Currently, these are only ideas. I am not ready to carry out such a plan.

Initially, my concerns were some what pessimistic, yet my dreams were and are big. After talking with a couple of coaches and friends outside of the hobby, it has helped me to see the hobby from another perspective.
