Tonight I was working with various lateral moving linemen that I have been developing and I set up the five linemen vs five defenders just to see how the different positions and angles working with some pressure from a live defense would turn out.

I turned the board on a for a second or two then turned it off, looked at the movement and positioning, did not touch anything, then turned the board on again for a second or two, looked again, did not touch then repeated.

Quite interesting, I then did the same thing replacing linemen adjusting dials, adding a RB coming out of the back field, etc...all so I could see holes that were opening and what direction my lateral movers were pushing the defense in effort to work up some consistent plays.

I did this for about 90 minutes on and off, experimenting and testing, it was fun to see the play develop. I thought to myself the is what Anthony Burgess preachs. So this time I did the same thing but made adjustments every time I turned the board off.

WOW, really a cool way to mess around, you can see the "intelligent" MF players making things happen.

I liked it.

It is no where near the fast pace of the Shootout rules I love so much, but it was neat to stumble across this and play around with it for a while. I am stuck on Shootout rules, but I see where the MPFL guys are coming from a little clearer now. It is truly a totally different cerebral way to play MF.

Granted this was just a rudimentary version of his system, but I could see where his mind is at with this.
