Default Great start!

My solitaire league got off to a great start this past week with two very competitive games:

'72 Dolphins 23
'75 Raiders 20

Miami's no name defense harassed Kenny "The Snake" Stabler all day (3 sacks) while using a balanced attack to top the Raiders in this game. The Fins speedy line backers kept Oakland's big play offense off balance the whole game. Clarence Davis was the only player who provided consistent offense during the day with 131 yards rushing and 2 TD's. Garo Yepremian even got into the act with a 63 yard FG to end the first half. Passing was atrocious by both teams (probably due to the fierce hitting going on).

'89 49ers 28
'79 Rams 27

The 49ers pull out a thrilling victory on the last play of the game to defeat the Rams in this one. This was certainly a tale of two halves as the Rams dominated the first half leading 27-7. They pounded the 49er defense with a bruising ground game and timely passing while shutting down San Francisco to little yardage. Montana and the boys got it cranked up in the second half maximizing the West Coast offense to the fullest. Joe survived a second half interception to hit 3 TD passes for the game. Rice had a total of 101 yards receiving for the game including the last play which was a 30 yard strike from Montana right into Rice's # 80 (I could not believe it myself) at the 5 yard line. Rice squeaked by the corner and safety barely crossing the goal line to cap a ferocious comeback.

I did not think solitaire could be this much fun. Still trying to come up with a league moniker and logo. I'm kickin' around using the "Motor City Solitaire Miniature Football League" or "MCSMFL" for short. Now if only I can talk the ever talented Weirdwolf to assist with a logo.
