After football Billy Cannon was caught counterfeiting(?).
In the late 70's the Cowboys had some drug scandal, I think Harvey Martin and some other high profile players on defense were named. There was a running back in the 60's, a great athlete but his head was screwed on a little too tight, he was a journeyman named Joe Don Looney. His antics were confined to the teams he played for. As an example, during practice with the Bears he was told to punt the ball. He did, after he turned around facing his own goal line, and nailed it for about 70 yards. During a game with the Bears Coach Halas tried to send him in with a play, to which Looney responed "I'm not your messenger boy." John Gilliam had a drug problem with the Steelers in the 70's. Chuck Muncie in New Orleans had a drug and women problems in the 70's.
