WE use it too............
in the Harrisburg BuzzBall Leagues we employ FOB tackling only for running backs on running plays.
It does a couple of things. If you are playing on a smaller board like a standard 600 series like the popular 620, it will help the offense with the run and increase the chances of moving the ball down the field. If playing on anything smaller I think it's essential to use FOB.
I have also noticed that it creates a more balanced play calling.
Previously using ABC, most guys were passing every play.
The down side I see with FOB is the potential of debate of whether or not contact was made with the front corner or side.
On larger boards like the BuzzBall Pd-2520, or McGhee monster board, I think ABC is the way to go as the "D" has too much ground to cover.
