Default get both

Rounded ones are better for getting through the line (kind of pushes players to the side or allows the player to redirect themselves around others when they make contact)

the Straight fronts 'stick' to other bases better.

so Corners and the O line are good to have straight front bases (guys who should Engage and not let go).

Guys like running backs and D-Line who will be blitzing are good with rounded bases.

I am sure others know more about this than I do, but that is the basic idea behind the 2 styles of bases
