Well, I talked to Maniax and he said that his board was fine, so it must vary a little from board to board. I went ahead and started tightening/loosening the screws, and found that they did indeed have an impact on the performance. After much experimentation, I found that the only screws that you need to mess with are the ones that connect the motor "legs" to the board. I adjusted these screws and kept testing it until the tension was about even. Now, the board runs better than it did before

-- but with one catch. It runs well on Blitz 2, but for some reason it's less consistent on Blitz 1.
I would only recommend this technique to someone that doesn't care too much about their Excalibur board, or that has an extra, because if you're not careful you'll just make the board worse (I almost did, anyway
