I was able to check this week, but was not able to talk to the manager as he is on vacation but I already know that Thursday is NOT available until potentially after 7:30 pm. I cannot confirm this until I visit with Tim at the Stearn Center next week.
I know many of you have expressed that you want to play in both tourneys and if there was any way to do this, we would try to set it up.
The good thing about all this is...this is just the beginning of what can be many future events even bigger and better! This is the first time for this type of event and the reality is we are still a small community of competitors. This event is not perfect as far as the amount of time available to us, but we are going to do everything we can to make it successful and to ensure that everyone has a good experience and a fun time. We have all wanted this type of event and here it is in front of us. I know many of you will have to make a choice as to which tourney you play in and that can be a difficult decision. After your first rounds, there will be many coaches out of the tourneys and ALL games played from start to finish, count in the Coaches Points Challenge so your competive juices can continue to flow as you go for the Individual and Team Awards in the CPC and the skills events.
Let's get through this first time event as planned with its schedule imperfections, sharing the fellowship and unity that it is designed around. Then next year with this experience in our back pocket we will plan as one unit working ahead with all interested parties and an expanded 4 or 5 day schedule.
Again, we had to start somewhere and if I had known at the start that we would be having these events join the Convention, we would have planned differently. The stars have aligned as they have and with everyones cooperation we can pull this off as one of the best events to have ever happened in miniature fooball.
As we move forward, I would ask that everyone keep the tenants of the MFCA in mind.
Unity, Fellowship and Integrity
