I think it creates some interesting scenarios. Once you beat some one, you are going to start cheering for them to win but not by too much. Almost like a NFL fantasy football league where you cheer for your fantasy team players to get a TD or lots of yards but not beat your favorite NFL team.
For instance, if Mike Turner plays Jim Davis and loses...Jim is gonna cheer for Mike to win all his other games even though you are both a country apart from each other.
