Default a whole lot of college teams!

For those of you who like to look at photos, I put a ton of college pics up under the gallery section of my website today: www.beenutt.com

I hope you enjoy them! I'll be adding more soon. Wake Forest is next.

Default facemasks

Beenutt-

How do you do you put your face masks on? I use the smooth end of a drill bit to bend them to fit the head, then use tweezers to set the face mask on, super glue to hold but i find that the shape of the facemask is sometimes to big so i have to pinch it to the helmet. the glue also leaves a crust when it dries, i don't see see any of this on your players, please enlighten me.

Default crazy glue

I use a small amount of crazy glue and it seems to dry very clear. Sometimes, if I put too much, I can see a little bit of film.

Default Facemasks

Brian I use the old Modge Podge. It dries quickly and clear without any film even on the visors,

Default On My Gosh!!!

Errin,

Using the Assembly Line Method, here's how I do it:
  • 1st apply your chinstraps and Mod Podge them down and let them dry in place.
  • Use your Exacto blade to cut the PAINTED facemasks off the sprue.
  • Hold mask between thumb and forefinger and place on the end of your paintbrush. Apply pressure down and around the brush end. Mask should easily curve. I generally face the bottom of the mask toward the bottom (narrower) end of the brush. Use a letter on your brush as a guide to do all of your masks the same way. I do masks one group at a time: 1. QBs, HBs & DBs; 2. FBs, TEs, LBs and DEs; 3. OL and DL.
  • Brush on some Mod Podge (a lot or a little) along and around the edge of the helmet - where it meets the face.
  • I use my fingers to put the mask in place. Sometimes I gotta wiggle it, sometimes I don't. (TWSS!!! ) Try to get the mask OVER the chinstrap - that's why I let the chinstraps dry 1st. Or else you gotta use your Exacto to push the chinstrap UNDER if it slides.
  • Once you get the mask and chinstrap situated, tack it in place with some more MP - from temple to temple.
  • Bada Bing! You're done! After all decals are in place I then slop on Model Master Gloss head to toe.

Default clear coat the mask too?

I wish Urelacher would have had that rookie base last week instead of using a TTC base to loop around the end to make the game saving tackle (and fumble) on my sweep play. I have to say, them Bears play as good as they look.

By the way, do you ever clear coat the masks too?

Yo Joe!

I had to make B-Lacher more versatile, so a TTC it was. I've watched that play 100 times already and EVERY SINGLE TIME I SCREAM, "BAMMMM!!!"

As far as masks, I clearcoat EVERYTHING top to bottom.

Default ouch..tough loss

that was my bread and butter play! I had the TE swing around and the WR block down nicely. The RT pulled blocked his man in perfectly and the fullback was setup to lead to the outside. One problem- I never sealed the middle linebacker and he took a perfect angle to arc thru the opening and like you said, BAMMM. Great game and a lot of fun! Looking forward to seeing the video reply sometime.
Joe
