![]() Helmets not even finished being painted, the upstart new team, Kari's Rampant Lions are roaring loudly against the Tri City Diesel already. In their scrimmage debut, the Lions are leading the Diesel 14-0 at the half, thanks to 2 interceptions and impressive drives going the length of the field.
As the Diesel's coach/coordinator, I am very concerned about being pushed around by a new team. In 14 days, I'll be participating in the opening weekend of season 2 of the Tornado Alley league, and things need to improve greatly in those 14 days. Here's a shot of the Lions halfback #00 (Gunn), going in for his second score of the first half. A missed tackle on the corner by #32 of the Diesel give him the entire corner of the end zone. |

![]() Lynn, Kari's work schedule is now such that she has to work Saturdays and her Sundays are set aside for church, so weekends to play in the Tornado Alley League wouldn't work for her to join. She's got the passing sticks figured out now I think. Her offensive line is pretty good too. I also think my helping her with formations and down/distance has alot to do with her success. That, and she's always had that "beginners luck".
Mark, Gunn's pass completion on that particular play was down at that spot. Our new passing rule is when a pass is attempted without using a TTC qb figure, and the receiver hits the target, the play is down at that spot. The first game (when Gunn caught a 80 yard score) it was an "automatic pass", which is essentially a pitch out into the flat. He caught that pass in stride and made it to the sideline and went all the way for a score. The guy is good! I haven't figured out a way to stop him yet. |
