Default GLEFL Rule Question

In the GLEFL rules I was reading just now it has a list of ineligible bases and the Miggle Proline round front are not approved for league play.

Just curious why that is.

I thought most leagues allowed all Miggle bases.

I do like their "tap out" rule too, that is cool.

Great Lakes is a very talented league. It is very hard to stop people now.If you allow them bases it would be worse.

I their rules, they have fines and penalties, one of the things they cover is quitting a game early, they give the player the option of "tapping out", which is quitting the game early with no penalty as long as both coaches agree.

I guess if it's the fourth quarter and you have been getting destroyed you can opt to "tap out", if the other coach agress then there is no penalty involved. I just found it kind of amusing as I was reading the rules.

Default It definitely has a purpose

At some point time becomes an issue. Especially with traveling coaches. In most cases now it is not needed for any purpose but to save time when the game is out of reach.

However, in the past, we did have some coaches running it up for whatever reason, mostly to pad their statistics. When you lose 50-0, 48-0, some coaches, especially newbies, you could rest assured you would lose a coach or two. Now, those same coaches understand the professional courtesy that is necessary to not only keep coaches, but to help them in their development. It makes me very proud to say that.

Rounded bases? In this league. It is hard enough to stop the square ones. The game is solid as is with defensive struggles and shoot-outs. It'll just be shootouts. We re-evaluate our rules every year and make changes based upon the development of the coaches, impact on new coaches, etc. Hope this helps.

Default Thanks!

I enjoyed reading the rules and it sounds like you cats are on top of things and run a pretty structured league.

I am from suburbs of Detroit, Allen Park, next time I get back there I will have to look you guys up for some scrimmages.

Smile We won't be far away Shabby Jay

We actually play our Sunday games at Taylor Lanes. Just outside Allen Park. So when you come down take a look at our schedule and you shouldn't have a problem getting there. We are definitely looking forward to you coming out for some fellowship and fun!
