![]() As most of you know I became an MF enthusiast around Thanksgiving of 2007. (BTW...according to Weirdwolf, I currently hold the record for fastest forum member to attain HOF forum status in the least amount of time...LOL
![]() Anyhow....After many wonderful conversations with many coaches here on these boards about MF Digital Camera options.... I finally put the cross hairs on a new digital camera around Christmas time. Sadly, my budget for a used camera was about $100. Yes, I know I am a big El Cheapo. But, I figured with all the new technology coming out in digital cameras each and every month I thought for sure I could score a used one on EBAY for around that price. The camera I set out after is the same one used by Hall Of Famer Norbert Revels. The camera is a Sony Cyber-Shot, Model # DSC-P200, 7.2 Mega Pixels, 3X Optical Zoom, with MPEG Movie VX. Here are some shots that Norbert took with his camera below. I bid on EBAY for months trying to score an all but new used model in mint condition for under $100 (from someone with a 100% EBAY seller rating) and I finally did it a couple of days ago! Well, I had to go up to $127, but, yahoo, its coming home to papa early next week. ![]() - If you do choose to follow my path on EBAY, my advise would be to be extra careful from who you buy from. When it comes to cameras and, really for that matter, any kind of electronic product or equipment on EBAY, there are a ton of scam artists out there lurking in the bushes. People who sell junk. So, be careful out there. If I can score one for $127 so can you, but just be careful. I'd hate to see anyone here get ripped off. Its happened to me plenty of times so far on EBAY over the years and it is not fun. ![]() - Last edited by BigFranco : 02-08-2008 at 02:23 PM. |

![]() For $120.00 bucks I'd feel safer buying a new one. These are so low in price now you can get a really nice point and shoot digital for $120.00, one that will take amazing pics.
I am a big EBayer, but buying used electronics is one thing that I have always been to afraid to do. A 3-4 mega pixel cam is more than enought to take some awesome MF pics. The attached was taken with a five year old Canon 3.0 mega pixel.

![]() It's a Canon Powershot S400, 4.0 mega pixels. It's about the size of a deck of playing cards. It's a few years old, but back then 4.00 mega pixels was hot.
Now mega pixel numbers have far surpassed that. I have been out of the digital camera market for a while now, but whenever I see them advertised in news paper sales flyers I am amazed at how inexpensive digital cameras are now.
