Default 4.0 Weight Limit

I know this topic has been on the bord before but we really never got a clear answer. Whats wrong with this weight limit? Alot of leagues want to stick with the 3.2 but why is it that you don't want to paint anymore figs? or maybe its the you don't want to add weight. I know its alot of people who want to know the real reason like me. I know everyone has a favorite set of figs, and I dig that but to outaw a specific set of figs that is insane.

I really dont post much but I've been looking and reading posts and this is a topic that never got a clear answer. Don't miss understand me I'm not talking rule set I'm talking just weight. Rule set is a whole different story all I can say about that is to each his own. To get as close to real football the shootout style is awsome.

we here in the momfl are going up in weight to 4.0 to allow for all figures and bases to be used, with minimal "cutting" of figures needed to make weight.
i have only been around for what is approaching a couple of years now, and from what i can gather, 3.2 has been the standard for years. i see nothing wrong with playing at 3.2, i will not personally bash it or ignore it as a form which coaches and leagues like to play. it is as much, or more, a part of this hobby as 4.0, 3.6, 3.8, multiple weights or unlimited weight.
i don't believe that those who choose to play within this weight structure are afraid to play at any weight level, nor are they trying to outlaw any figures, it is just merely what they enjoy. and that is the bottom line of all of this, isn't it? enjoyment, having fun.

i will say, though, at the mfca convention, i had an opportunity to scrimmage an outstanding coach, and a great guy to boot. during the scrimmage, he pulled aside one of my o-linemen and asked me how much he weighed. this figure weighed a heavy 3.6, bordering on 3.7. his figure weighed 3.2. i cannot remember what type of figure that he had, but i had a miggle bigman lineman on a base tweaked by one of the best that the hobby has to offer, needless to say, it is a pretty dog-gone strong base. we lined our 2 guys up head to head, and the result was interesting to me, it was pretty even. he would gain a slight advantage, then i would, and back and forth it went for a few seconds until the board was shut off, we looked at each other, and said hmmmph. we then finished our scrimmage.

Chris, you pretty much summed it up for the masses, and the lone poster.
Very good reply.

Default One interesting variation

That I have seen is where the linemen can weigh up to 4.0

and then backs, receivers, LB 's, DB's - 3.2-3.6.

Very similar to what you see in real "life" football.

Default Not Bashing

I will never bash anyone who is a part of this hobby just wanted to know why the weight is so important to some people I have been in this hobby for about 15 years playing with friends in my area. Just recently I discovered that leauges and turnaments existed, and I will attend as many as possible next year the question was just a general one, WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT!

The reason I asked is because I use Reg figures, and it seems that alot of leagues dont allow you to use them even if they make weight, I dont mind putting in the time to get them to 2.0 but then they say no custom figs. Why is this? Just a question

i don't know about that. i would consider an unaltered reg figure a stock figure, not a custom.
you would have to ask the leagues in question directly to get an answer on this topic.

Hopefully the next manufacturer of figures will make theirs 5.2g so we can keep addressing this topic over and over again.

I hereby decree that whatever new figures come out are forthwith banned from ALL leagues.

Now we can all cry about it for the next 3 years!!!

Thanks for the update, 8-Ball.
