Default Frozen Kicks

What's the deal with putting your bases in the freezer? Does that work in tandem with boiling them, or is it its own method? If so, please explain the science behind this.

You know, if there are any physics-geeks out there, you'd probably make good for yourself in this hobby. The mechanics of the game are simple science/physics, vibration=movement.
