![]() MF COACHES,
Do you think some NFL coaches are Tyrants or, well coaches 1) Jim zorn, I HAVE A MASSIVE PROBLEM WITH HIM TELLING ALBERT HAYNESWORTH TO "Get out of my face" 2) The coach in denver, What do you think ? he seems to be a good coach but i think he is doomed. The whole cutler thing, the brandon marshall thing. Who i admitt is a pain and would not want him on my team. ***TONY DUNGEE and MARVIN LEWIS seem to be successful even keel coaches. 3)parcells can have his moments Bottom line is, I have a problem with one grown man yelling at another grown when your both trying to get the part of your job done. ***Some NFL coaches get the job and think they are bigger than the law. ***The alabama coach, he can't even smile after winning the nash You cant continue to treat grown men this way. I have one name for you LATRELL SREEWELL !!!!!!!!! I see it coming, these players are going to snap and dont care about a fine or suspention. Some coaches get the job and think they are annointed god. I heard horror stories about little league coaches and run ins with the parents. You see another grown man screaming at your kid, LOOK OUT. YOUR JUST A LITTLE LEAGUE COACH. What do you think of he NFL COACHES and little coaches with these tyrant mentalities. ***is there a way to coach and get your point across ? Thanx mantaraydre

![]() Wow...that is pretty deep. I guess it depends on the coach. Many folks here in Indiana look at Dungy as a failure as a coach. Many believe the Colts should have had 3-4 rings instead of one...and why do people say this...because he was too easy going and does not get in players faces enough. Let's face facts...what motivates today's players? Is it money...for some the answer is yes and for these players I believe a coach should get in a players face when they don't show up to play...Albert Haynesworth is a good example. What did they pay him... 52 million and what did they get in return...not what they paid for.
Now there are some players out there who play for the love of the game and for championships. To name a few...Brian Westbrook, Miles Austin, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning...about 80% of those who play the game. It is just too bad that 10-15% are there for the money these days. With it being a team sport...all a team needs is one kink in the armor and the team will lose. Look at the Cowboys...great example. Last year T.O. was so disruptive, that they just could not function. How refreshing it was to hear all the players talk about the TEAM effort and how the TEAM won the game this season. If I was head coach of a T.O. team, I would have got in his face every time he dropped the ball...to bad for Buffalo this year. Players that snap...well it could happen and if it does, then I guess that player should be banned from the NFL and that goes for a coach who physically hits a player (Oakland Raiders coach), but as head coach I think they have the right to try and get the players attention any way they can (without violence). Let me say this...I watch old footage of Vince Lombardi and he never just sat on the sidelines with his arms folded and not saying a word. Vince yelled at his players, grabbed them as they were coming off the field and gave them a tongue lashing when they deserved it. T.O. would have not lasted a day on his TEAM, and either would any of the current day spoiled, overpaid players of today.... And as for Parcells...he is one of the top 5 coaches of all time. Marvin Lewis will be lucky to keep his job...even keel or not...that man needs to get the most out of his players...he needs to show some emotion...it is a emotional game. Those of us who have played the game know...when the coach gets in your face, it is time to bring your A game...it is not done enough in the NFL... God bless, peace

![]() Interesting you mention Marvin Lewis since he is the last remaining perennial loser coaching an NFL team. He has little respect from those above him AND below him, which is sad since he is a great defensive mind, but not even LeBeau was able to generate wins in Cincinnati.
Cowher was the antithesis of what you were driving at as far as even-tempered, he got in people's faces shouted (and spat) but he was a great motivator and a fundamentals football coach (Football 101 ![]() A lot of coaches are like a lot of players, they are divas, self-serving selfish and single-minded, who appear to us cold, calloused, and unapproachable. For every 20 guys who can take being screamed at there's 1 or 2 who can't. Buck up Haynesworth, you're a grown man and you're making bank, so what if a little dude gets in your face (1 example) Some players can't make the mental transition. This could be nothing but a rumor BUT word around the 412 regarding Limas Sweed's injury inactive for the last few games was because he was in Western Psyche. There's a lot of stress for some in this line of work, money or not. |

![]() I don't have a problem with a coach in the Pros,
regardless of the sport, yelling or getting in a mans face to a degree.i.e.< motivation; to help him correct mistakes; But to do just for the sake of doing it,NO . I DO have a problem with a "kids-team" coach yelling at the kids like they were grown. They're kids and they WILL make mistakes. They don't have to be yelled at like they are dogs.I'm not saying coddle them either but remember they are still kids.Treat them as such. I'm talking about "small" kids, 8-15 or so.Once they get to varsity level, then they, the kids, should be able to handle some yelling and in-the -face attitude adjustments. ......LOL Just my opinions. ![]() Would any of you tolerate your boss getting in your face like a football coach at your job? I know I wouldn't.
Fewer players today are willing to tolerate the antics of coaches "in your face" technique and today's coach must realize that form of coaching does not work with every player. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it) today's coach has to be part psychologist in dealing with today's player. The flip side is that many of these so called professional athletes constantly deserve a kick in the rear end. Today's coach has it rough.
