Default My Preference!

Yes Sir,

As far as I know, it is ok to spray your figures with primer and then paint them up. I have have done this very thing with several of my teams and plan to continue using primer on my current (watch for the SSIILLVVEERR SSUURRFFEERR EEDDIITTIIOONN of the Dallas Cowboys) and upcoming projects (Throwback Buccs).

Some may have an issue with the reason for which one may choose to use primer. That is, for the purposes of adding weight. If your intent is not to add weight (a lot of weight), then it should be perfectly fine.

So far, I have had no objections to the usage of primer in any of the leagues or tourney's in which I have participated.

Do your thang, baby!

Default Definately

Make sure to use white primer and not gloss.Use 2 light coats as not to experience build up.Works best when your using acrylic paints on top,oil base paint has a tendency to bleed the white through.I do it because not only is it faster but it gives something for the paint to hold on to,helps prevent chipping.good deal homey have fun peace. Default Oh, I forgot!

I went to either The Home Depot or Loews in North Carolina the other week and purchased several different colors of primer. I usually use white, but a brotha loves to experiment from time-to-time. My preference is to use the primer made by Rust-Oleum. Make sure it says "Plastic Primer, Superior Paint Adhesion On Plastic and Interior/Exterior" on the outside of the can.

Enjoy Homez!

Default Nope!

You know, I am getting a lil old these days. I do not quite remember an issue with KW, but I do remember a jersey number issue with Michael Downs and Everson Walls. One of them was wearing the others jersey number. And I am sad to say, I never fixed it. I think I will leave it as is. However, I made sure that my other Cowboys teams have the correct jersey numbers.

Default Primer

You can't beat good old Testors Primer, it's made for plastic and is a no brainer, I have even used Testors flat white spray as a primer in a pinch. One or two very light coats is all you need for good paint performance, of course if you use the primer to add weight then go for, it still needs to be done in multiple thin coats either way.

I am no expert but I have painted MF figures (just recently), as well as other models and figures for 25 years as a hobby, although everyone has their favorite, the tried and true Testors products are great and very affordable.

Default Good hobby stores

sell excellent figure primer - I used to buy Floquil brand I believe, but now I use what I find at Lowes, Depot, or local hardware store.

I still use - especially when I have cleaned up figures or modified them.

As Wattz said - 2 light coats will do.

I am sure Dimitri can illuminate us on this.
