Default Sort of a view into the MPFL system by accident

Tonight I was working with various lateral moving linemen that I have been developing and I set up the five linemen vs five defenders just to see how the different positions and angles working with some pressure from a live defense would turn out.

I turned the board on a for a second or two then turned it off, looked at the movement and positioning, did not touch anything, then turned the board on again for a second or two, looked again, did not touch then repeated.

Quite interesting, I then did the same thing replacing linemen adjusting dials, adding a RB coming out of the back field, etc...all so I could see holes that were opening and what direction my lateral movers were pushing the defense in effort to work up some consistent plays.

I did this for about 90 minutes on and off, experimenting and testing, it was fun to see the play develop. I thought to myself the is what Anthony Burgess preachs. So this time I did the same thing but made adjustments every time I turned the board off.

WOW, really a cool way to mess around, you can see the "intelligent" MF players making things happen.

I liked it.

It is no where near the fast pace of the Shootout rules I love so much, but it was neat to stumble across this and play around with it for a while. I am stuck on Shootout rules, but I see where the MPFL guys are coming from a little clearer now. It is truly a totally different cerebral way to play MF.

Granted this was just a rudimentary version of his system, but I could see where his mind is at with this.

WOW!!!!!!

Thanks! Well I am pleased that you understand this small area of my system. The game is not slow at all like many think, 20 seconds to do everything when the board is off. You have to think, move fast, etc.

When it comes to the Pass Placement, many think " It slows the game down " Well yeah if you are not using it as I designed it, (ie pass simulation, pass emulation) .

On average it takes 2-4 seconds once you know what receiver you're going to, unlike the time it takes to use the TTQB, on average is much much longer.

One thing that the readers of this forum should know is that there are many coaches who are starting to understand the MPFL system. They want more from this hobby.

A lot of the MPFL system can be viewed on the NFL PlayBook on the NFLNETWORK. What they break down is the same as in the system.

I have always said this and I see many are starting to get it now. Tweaking a base is good, but has nothing to do with football knowledge, and being able to use the TTQB also has nothing to do with football intelligence.

What would you rather have,......... Tweaking bases skill or Football Knowledge ?, TTQB Skill or Football intelligence ?

There is more in my opinion to this hobby than base tweaking and TTQB skills, and the MPFL system address all of them. Now knowing how to tweak and use the TTQB is good, however it is not enought to win in this system.

Move and counter move, you have tweaked bases, I can counter with scheme of the play, TTQB skill, again I can counter with scheme of the play, take way pass routes, get into the passing lane, force you to check down.

Remember football is a chess match, a game of strategy, not a game of luck and chance. But a true test of ones knowledge of football position, play calling, position discipline and much more. Not just Tweaking and TTQB passing.

I am very happy that you see a little into how I think

Default The Mpfl

SHAB,

It's good you scrimmaged a sample of what the MPFL system can do. A base and a figure cannot do everything so this system allow's you to do it for them. CUT BACKS, DESIGNED ROUTE RUNNING, OPENING HOLES, ETC ETC.
This system is the NFL on your table. The league is growing as i type. Ant said not only are you physically drained after a game, but you are mentally drained also. You must constantly think and make the decision's during each stoppage. "You are the linebacker, rb, qb, db, lineman" . You are actually playing football via each figure.

Im going to help get this league to 32 strong. I am making the trek from NY and wish more coaches from the dc, baltimore , virginia area's sign up and play. It will be fun.

I dont understand your system complelty but I limited understanding.
When I was about 12 after many years of playing the game where the men ran around which ever way, I to made My own system up where I turned the board off a few times a play to ajust players( I played the 1976 season Dallas won the super bowl against Oakland raiders ) I keep stats for ever game and a play by play of the super Bowl, boy what I would do for those stats . I threw the ball myself from behind the quaterback.
I never knew of tweaking so the way I played was a must for me .
I would be interested in all your rules just to see em
Thanks for the information
