The time is coming !
Hi,
I 'm proud, happy and very excited to say that I completed the first stage of my miniature football discovery ! I tweaked two complete offensive squads, trying to make the best balance I was able. This two squads will be the core of defensive squads too, I just have to tweak a couple of figs more to allow more options on the defensive play. I'm very happy with my linemen, and my wide receivers. Less happy of my "mixed strong/speed" players (TE, FB), but it stills very playable. I tweaked a "gold nugget" base too for defense : a base running straigt (like running on rails) no matter the position on the field. I think it will be usefull on safety position or on receiver's cover. I'm very happy with the board too : it runs smooth and fast (surprisingly smoother with the 22 players on the field, BTW), no delay on ON/OFF operating. I made a few O plays to test the whole thing. How man it was very cool to see the linemen blocks, the receivers sneaking on the sides, the quarterback staying in the pocket, safe, the full back covering a blitzer on the right...it was so cool. Fascinating, as Mr Spock should say. If anyone read this post, and doesn't know miniature football : try it, try it seriously, and you'll see. No comparaison to video games (even if I often play NFL 2k1 on my good old sega dreamcast, best sport video game ever made ). It's like slot car racing instead of video game : IT IS REAL CARS, IN THE REAL WORLD PHYSICS. You made it. MF is the same thing. It is real athletes -and believe me- running and thinking on their own. Well, anyway, I've got an excellent sides passing play, but Im' pretty sure it is certainly caused more by my rules ignorance than by my coach's skills I'll make vids next weeks, now I'm pretty tired (I spent all the day tweaking, and beleive me when you're beginner, it's not so easy) Now the next final steps before the first gameday, will be to make the 10yards chain and other game markers...and learn the rules (I choosed the MFCA beginner rules + buzzball passing sim + 2 or 3 things I'm talking about on the forum this days). THe D day should come monday, november 2nd. The first french (european?) miniature football gameday ever made. I'll make plenty of pics and vids, of course. Even I know it will be a kind of 'minor-minor" league play (because of our weak knowledge of MF and real football here) comparing to USA leagues games, I'll be happy and proud to have made it myself ! To be continued ! Dimitri |

Many of us...
...are proud of how far you've come. Can't wait to hear about your first game.
BTW, that offensive and defensive setup looks familiar. D

TOnight I'll read the MCFA rules another time...I have so many questions, after making my first play sequences : - positionning order, audibles - distance between team players - definition of a open receiver (path to the QB especially) etc, etc.... Tomorrow night, I 'll tweak the last "option d men" (about 3-4 specialized players by team) I'll add to my iron man squads, and perhaps make several plays too to train (I especially like the buzzball passing simulation : very simple to learn, and "fluid" in the game flow too). |

I 'm actually studying the rules ( "chercher la petite bĂȘte" like we say in France can be roughly translated by "splitting hairs" ) , can't wait to play ! this week end I'll make some vids of solitaire actions to show you how my board and teams works. dimitri |
