Default Photoshop field file

LAsportsfan over on the Chris Creamer's Sports Logos forum told me that some folks were using some assets that I had a hand in creating and I thought I'd come over.

There's a football MMorg called Goal Line Blitz where you can create players, own teams and play out seasons for internet fame. They use replays where the players (large dots) run up and down fields. Some folks came up with a way to display custom football fields and I got in on it and added to the topic.

One of the things I did was to make a starter field psd. It's here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W4UYVP12 It's got textures, correct layouts, numbers, stadium shadows, etc. It's the collection of what I've learned doing fields. This is a layer for snow. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FQ6M3PF0

I will be the first to admit that the shadows that I put on field covers now wouldn't be there if I hadn't seen your fields. You definitely get the credit for the idea. I still design all my own components, but the idea for the shadow was genius. You do great work. Do you have designs or can your designs be built for high res for printing purposes. I am sure that there are coaches on here that would love to purchase art for field covers if it can be designed for print and to their size fields. I don't know if you have any interest in that, but I am sure you will get asked.

Thanks for coming over to the forum and thanks for sharing your work! Hopefully all these ideas can come together to continue to grow the miniature electric football hobby!

I really cannot take credit for creating shadows - that's been a part of the texture replacement project since the beginning. Initially it was a separate layer but most people ended up incorporating a shadow directly into a field if they wanted one at all. I got into it because I wanted the challenge of making more realistic textures.

I saw stuff like this,

http://i35.tinypic.com/160tqte.jpg
http://i50.tinypic.com/n32kvk.jpg
http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/9820/ganggreen.png
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/294/phino.jpg
http://i35.tinypic.com/2ajtd1y.jpg

and thought I could do better.

I do a lot of knocking down of layer intensity, fading in layers to get a more realistic look and using multiple layers to get a certain feel. Most football field graphics are slightly transparent, to allow the yard lines to show through and most have dirt and wear affecting the surface. Also, different grasses have a different look that may also change due to the season.

If someone wanted to purchase art I would be willing to work with them. I would need print sizes but I think the graphics should scale up nicely.
