Default What's next?

Seeing how some of the leagues are growing, it now seems like some have attained a goal that many of us have only fantasized about, an NFL league with all 32 teams!

But, ..............what's next, ..........as I have said before, It takes a crowd to build a crowd, ..........and the level that the philly league displayed only brings me to ponder, ........................what's next?

I mean, after all we have been through, ....striving for growth, .......can we, in good conscience, once we get to 32 teams, ..............LIMIT our participants?

Yes, I know college has many more teams, but many areas have a "pro" league and a college league.

One question is, how to open things up? Why only nfl? why not a pro team league? I can see the Stars playing the Eagles, ........ Michigan Panthers playing the Detroit Lions, etc, ............and let's remember the World Football League..........or teams from different eras, ..............like the 69 Vikings, Buddy Ryan era Eagles, .............the Baltimore Colts, ...the LA Rams, .............the St. Louis Cardinals.....

These are just some thoughts I have as I fantasize about continued growth in the hobby.

In my league you can make up any team or play with any team it part of what is cool about this hobby you can use your mind to create why limit yourself limits are the top reason someone fails If someone can call this real football than ya should be able to play with any team ya want

i like the different eras idea. i would guess you use a different uniform as well to tell the difference between the teams. i am a Dallas fan, so I KNOW when i decide to really get down and start actually playing again, it will be hard to get my Cowboys as the team to roll with.

Default solution for Diff eras ....

In the Harrisburg BuzzBall League we prefer you have your team in dark and white uniform, unless you are a newbie, ......... so if the 90's Cowboys were to play the 70's era cowboys, ............home team decides their uniform................wouldn't that be cool, ..........bob lilly sacks troy aikman, ...........and while you cowboy aficionados play, ........you can talk cowboy history, etc.........................alas, we are only at 16 at this time so it's just a dream.....

Default That sounds like a plan.

But the NEFL was built on being very sim to the NFL. National Electric Football League. So that's why you won't see two teams and stuff like that in this league.
It was a breeze to do the schedule.......... We used 05 last yr, we are going with 06 this yr...if we can pull it off again we will go with 07.

Start with 32 and only 12 make the playoffs!!!!!!!!!! Only the good make it in. It really makes the regular season mean something.

Rip we hope to add you to the mix next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..... thinking out loud for what's next, I wasn't suggesting this for the philly league I was just thinking if you have a league that's going to be greater than 32 participants, ..........

Default Yep

We almost had this problem twice but it worked itself out. We are fortunate to have both a college and pro league in our area. The Pro League used to be clearly the more competitve league too. However, all the top coaches in the college league made significant progress this year and wound up going deep into the playoffs so the gap is closing.

I like the idea of adding USFL teams as opposed to duplicate teams, which could cause a statistical nightmare. If the situation re-surfaces with our league I will surely recommend. Turning people away is not something that should be considered. Great Topic G. Oh, expect your phone to ring soon.

For all those whose eyebrows raised in curiousity upon reading that part, CLMDesigns Chris Markham is your USFL man. Rosters, painted teams (NICE!), USFL decals, all that you need to start a USFLMF franchise. Who will be the first to roll 55 men deep with the NJ Generals led by Herschel Walker?
