Size of custom made boards?
Hi Guys,
My Dad and I are thinking about building a custom board as a Father-son project. We are trying to determine what the size should be, so I wanted to ask . . . has anyone ever built a custom board that is about the size of a 620 or 660? Is there much cost difference in materials from that and just upgrading to a 48x24? All the custom boards I see here seem to be rather large. Thanks, Brian |

that will be a fun project!
there is a set of instructions in one of the back issues of "the tweak". It has dimensions and estimated costs.... This is only one persons method, I am sure there are many other ways to "skin a cat". There is a very detailed thread on this forum one coach made while making his big board that looks very informative
best of luck |

I think if you are going to take the time and effort, make it bigger than a standard field, go 24"x48". Sheet metal or fiberboard costs will not be that much more, nor will the wood for the frame.
Just my opinion. Sounds like fun either way.
