What if...The Seawall Brawl goes to College???
Who'd be interested to play for the National Championship I proposed in another thread instead of NFL? Cast your vote and then, if you would be more interested in having a 65 team National Championship Tourney - just like basketball - then RSVP your team.

Given what the tournament is about, who it benefits, and the real meaning of the event, I think we could play with Martian teams and it wouldn't matter.
Pro or college is fine by me. College is probably preferred, because I like how it opens up the rules set (full house backfields, etc.). Ed

My take
Jimbo,
I couldn't make it last year but I hope to be there in 07. As for teams? With DC having the college event I would prefer this one to stay Pro teams. If DC drops the college tourney then I'd like to see at least one college tourney in the year. Just my thoughts......... RAIDERMAN |

True
That is true IF you actually get 65 peeps to show up. Not likely. Miggle gets that many but that is the most populated event of the year. I've never seen more than 42 participants at a tourney other than Miggle. That one year at Winter Fest that room was PACKED out. I think George said he had 42 sign up that year. I'd love to be part of a bracket like that but realistically I don't see 65 people showing up.

Can't Vote
Can't vote because my preference is not listed.
I like Roo's idea of playing with Martian teams. LOL! Seriously, I like the idea of requiring everyone to play with a team of their own making. I believe that the NHFL does this. It would be more fun to me to see people come up with creative team concepts. We don't need to pigeon-hole ourselves into this either pro or college stuff. Go Chess Men!!!! |

I agree with Frank
It wouldnt matter pro or college, but I feel the Seawall Brawl is unique in that is open to all figures, so it should be open to all types of team creation as well, I don't want to see it mimic any other tourney, that is what was so special about it , its not like anything else.

Swb '07
I've told the MFU guys that I would like to see the Brawl stay pro, at least one more year. Mainly because some the things Bill and I have planned were contingent on a pro motif. However, If this becomes a comes a college tournament for 07 then we'll just have to adapt our plans.
I've already spoken to Tom Johnson one of the main promoters of college EF, and will defer to his expertise should our tournament go college. Last year we didn't specify what kind of teams to bring, however most of the coaches instinctively brought pro. It really didn't matter what types of teams were being used as long as they adhered to the policy of Offense in dark and Defense in white. This year will be a little different in the sense that if this is a pro tourney bring a pro team; if it's college bring a college squad. We plan to have fun no matter what kind of teams are being used. |
