308 noise question

I know u guys have probably answered this already, but I was wondering how do you reduce the noise the board makes while running. I would like my board to run fast, and stay quiet.

can probably do is put some foam insulation under the playing surface all the way around the board. There is a self-adhesive foam that you can use. Then, if you want the board to be permanently attached, you can drill with wood screws around into the playing surface. Also, you can lower the speed or change the polarity of the Railpower.

i have an older 308 and i had the same darn fight

The best thing that worked for me was i put a stack of playing cards under the motor to keep it pressed firmly against the underside of the board when it was on the table. I used a deck of cards so i could get it to the exact height where it pressed on the motor, yet stayed consistent with the legs.

PM Artlax and Markee, they both have 308 boards that i know of.

I used a stack of cards under the motor of my Miggle 620 for a while and it worked, but it got worse. You could stick a stack of bricks under it now and it would buzz so bad it would break all of the bricks! In fact, I just got back from my Dad's house. We are going to pop that motor open and see what the heck is wrong with it. We know the cord is loose; may even have a short. But the noise on that lousy thing is waaaaay bad. Maybe time to write Mr. Miggle a letter.

Reg hooked me up with a tip when he was visiting last year, I use velcro around the bottom of the field to secure it to the rail instead of screws. I then also use a small hand towel folded up under the motor, serving the same purpose as the deck of cards mentioned, it also helps with noise a little bit.

Mine is pretty quiet now and I can turn it up as fast as I need to.

Where do you get this foam insulation you speak of? Is it available at Home Depot? If I can, what is it the name of it?

Home Depot has it. You can also use a velcro which will minimize any vibration and will lower the noise level.

Do you have the name of the foam insulation? I don't know about you, but if I tell any of those guys who work at Home Depot that I need foam insulation, they will give me a blank response. So I need specific information, please.

Go to the door and window insulation section. There you will find it in the correct widths you are looking for. Also will have a sticky side to it to adhere to your frame.
