poll: what kind of pivot do you like
Since Coach Baxter put it on the forefront, let's find out where we are in the summer of 2009 on pivots
vote for type: finger pivot pivot stick/pen/marker use of on-field referees use of a pivot box or just turn the man and forget about the mark thanks K-LO Last edited by Coach K-LO : 06-19-2009 at 12:28 PM. |

Some of ths stuff just gets too ticky-tack. I've always played just turn the guy, just so long as you're not moving him down the field. If they're anything like most of my guys, they'll miss the tackle anyways, so don't sweat it.

My one cent...
No disrespect intended, please no one take this the wrong way and I am by no means an expert...but this is a question of good sportsmanship and keeping the game simple...we are making this game way to complicated...a pivot box...really?
I am with Al on this one...as long as you are not moving the player forward, what difference does it make what type of pivot is made. Peace

Just make the pivot, there has to be some true sportsmanship left in the game.

JUST WIN, BABY!!!
Where it matters most is in Tournaments. Imagine EVERY play when the other coach either scooches his players a yard or so closer to your ball carrier or a yard or so away from your defenders. Those yards add up and makes a HUGE difference over the course of a game with a trophy or Championship attached to it.
The RAIDERS wet down their homefield once upon a time to get an edge; Green Bay ordered an Ice Storm against Dallas to get an edge; New England only swept away the snow on their FG attempt, etc. Sportsmanship is overrated. Just win, baby!!!! |

I'm of the notion of just pivot the defender. In tourney play maybe have a ref or two there to make sure you don't move up or back to make the tackle. It really shouldn't be this hard guys. Lets just play ball shall we???
