A Time to Heal Wounds: Canton, Ohio
If my wife knew I was on hear talking, you probably would be a little PO'ed with me for in her eyes, it's difficult for her to see the reason I would when my name was thrown around insinuating things. However, I am sometimes ruled by my own "hunch" and not by emotions.
I try to live a clean life, treat my family with goodness, and do good by my fellow man. But I think we as men and some of the women who frequent this site, we owe it to ourselves and the legacy of our great game to move forward in a positive manner. Guys like Jimbo, who I still consider my friend and brother, I hope he does come to Canton! Sometimes, we need to move past pride and humble ourselves to continue to be brothers in the game. I look forward to hopefully seeing Jimbo and playing some Arena ball with him and just hanging out with him. I know Jimbo is a good dude and family man. That alone makes him someone who I want to hang around. Guys like Ken Allen, who I hear giving his kids the business on the telephone, only to tell them he love them, makes me happy to be coming there just to meet him. Ken and I were never friends but now, we are boys! Amazing and strange how the game heals wounds. We've got to go to Canton with one thing in mind, that is to have a lot of fun and heal those wounds. Guys are mad about "passion". Everyone has passion and show it in their own way but we've got to not hold on to that anger or channel it in a manner that will be good for the game. I hope to see everyone in Canton. Whether you like me or hate me, just come share a few minutes with me and let's crack some plastic and get past the pettiness that is in all of mankind. Let's get it crackin'! Just my opinion, Reg |

Yessir!
That's right Reg, tell my business. You should have PM'ed me!
That's right RJ, can you Co-sign for me a "Vette". Seriously though: Guys, you know where I stand. Neutral. I like anyone with the guts to take on such an extensive hobby from the solitaire, collector, leagues, tournament organizers, and manufactures. RJ, our banter is LEGENDARY! Having said that you'll probably get the hardest handshake and biggest hug from me in Canton. Reg! I am glad I have gotten to know you bro'. Knowledge is key. The one thing that I do like about you, besides getting to know you better, is that you have come to realize that civility is the key to the success of this hobby. According to my phone records, I amassed over 480 minutes gathering information. I know the truth and that should have been good enough for me. :o Jimbo, I only wished I had talked with you first. Our interactions have always been real. You guys had the opportunity to do for the entire hobby what we pioneers did a few years back. Solidify. Many leagues followed our model in reaching out in contiguous states for one massive fellowship. This year would have brought both a league championship series, with the opportunity to "play in" as an independent, and one of the most successful charity tournaments together for what would, yet still will be, one of the largest fellowshipping efforts in the history of miniature football. I joined the CBSMF because of that. I would lay in bed thinking about how with all this going on, along with the points challenge, no one would be on the sidelines. I wanted to try and do it all. We had so many obstacles with each other in the Great Lakes and we still face challenges today. However, at the end of the day civility ruled out and we prospered although our disagreements dwarfed anything I have ever seen on the forum. Next year, let's shoot even higher by keeping in mind our oneness, our goals, and our membership. God bless you guys! Last edited by sweetka : 07-08-2009 at 05:18 PM. |
