Default The MFCA Logo

I've had a few questions regarding the figure on the MFCA logo. I'll do my best to explain it and if anyone has more questions feel free to call me.

The inital logo that I created had no figure on it. Only a felt football and resembled the NFL Coaches Association logo.
The committee felt that it did not represent to the newbies or to the general miniature football population what Miniature Football was about and everybody agreed that it needed a figure on it. Thus the problem. Figures are made by different companies and the MFCA's prime directive (stealing a line from Star Trek) are the words "all inclusive". That mean't either cluttering the logo with many different figures or trying to create artistically a figure that represented all.

I will admit to not being Michelangelo and I'm maybe just a step above a bathroom grafitti artist. The task was mine however and with photos and a figure from each company on my desk including some customs, I did my best to make an amalgam of all in front of me.

To little detail and the figure looked old and too much detail and the figure was hard to tell from a McFarlane or real player. It took me a lot of time to draw this but it is a drawing done on my computer. After its acceptance by the committee it was pointed out to me that it looked like a "Mr. Everything" and after I made the comparisons it does have some of the look of the Mr. Everything with the arms reversed.

I just want everyone to know that the intent was to meld all the figures and create something that to the newbie said miniature football. If it says anything besides miniature football to the masses then I failed artistically in my attempt. It was never the intent to have it look like any particular companies product.

Hopefully as the MFCA grows and miniature football grows there will come a day that we need to upgrade the logo and the MFCA members with artistic ability will be able to assist. For now, good bad or otherwise it is what we have and I hope that to the majority it still says miniature football. When you look at the history of logos, they often change to keep up with the times. We are in a period now where electric football/miniature football is changing. Our logo will change too in time.

Thanks and I hope that this clears that question up.

As far as the figure on the logo..

Yep.. It is the reverse of the Buzzball Mr. Everything.
Same arms location as a FF.com LWR..
Could be the reverse of the Miggle WR..
All 3 have similar strides..

I think you could make a case for the figure being a loose interpretation of any of the 3 above.

I can't think of any other figure you could have done? You could make a case that it's any of the 3 above manufacturers figures. Which is good.
I don't know how you would come up with anything else that could be considered a "happy medium".. More detail may have made it less of a happy medium.

Thumbs up Great Job

I doubt that anyone can do a better job at the logo than Wolf. It is obvious it is a work of someone who loves the game. Some might start to think the base on the figure was either tweaked by Norbert or Geno. Now that might get Jim Davis and many other master tweakers a bit annoyed but in any case that figure is only a figment of the mind of "Wolf". It is nice to see dedication to the concept of playing the game with out any sway by any manufactures or those with a hidden agenda. ( crazy stuff when you are talking about playing a game )

Thanks WW for your efforts,

Rock Solid

I do want to say that the persons who asked the questions were fine with my answer also. No one was upset and they all had valid reasons for asking. After my explanation they seemed fine with the reasoning. So far all responses have been over whelmingly positive! I should of included that in the original post.
