Thank you my new and old EF brothers for the goodtimes and congradulations to Greg representing his BIG 10 brothers for making it to the dance and to Mike Robertson for winning it all. Now, I ask you all... tell me in few or lots of words your 2 or 3 most memerable moments of the weekend... weather its ef related or not. for me: #1... Reggie singing the National Anthem and everyone in the room joining in for the grand finally of Americas most beautiful song ever written. That will never be topped #2... Ken Allen asking the press conference question, "Should there be a mercy rule?" to mike and greg... Dawg your delivery and charachter was AWSOME! I was in tears! LOL #3... Although I was on the losing end of the game ... To watch a BIG time come from behind victory for Michigan was truley amazing... to me thats what college football is all about HEY Mike and Doug... If I said it once... I'll say it again, "There isnt 2 other guys Id rather be lost with" LOL, LOL, LOL your brother out west, celo

Most Memorable Moment
1. Meeting Detroitchild and Leslie and seeing the instant connection between Rose and Leslie.
2. Kicking everyone out of the "family" only to see myself have to kick myself out the "family". 3. Meeting TVChacis and seeing his positive energy. He had a big speech to deliver to me and I was overwhelmed by it! 4. Seeing one of my best friends in the world Joyce Rogers and almost trearing up when we had the HOF ceremonies and started talking about Dirk. Also watching Mike Turner get elected in as many people can't imagine how giving this guy has been in the hobby for so long. 5. Watching Mozeek's son Elijah get all under Rose like she was his long-lost Auntie and they spent time talking on school and him doing good. 6. Something heartfelt and profound Mozeek told me towards the end of the convention that really blew me away. I will never forget it and will always cherish those words. |

Memorable Moments
First of all I would like to thank Weirdwolf, Will Travers, Matt Culp, Tim Young and everyone else who worked so hard to put the Convention together. ANd to Ravenna Al for his work on the Tweak - I am glad that you were recognized for your extraordinary efforts. There was so much hard work put into it to make it a great weekend for everyone. I know that everyone who was there had a great time.
I would also like to thank Reggie for all his hard work in putting the CBSMF Championship Tournament together. For all of us that were fortunate enough to be there and participate, it was a great event. As for my memorable moments: 1) Seeing my son Zack beaming while wearing the Leather helmet for winning the MFCA Youth Championship is number one. He is why I got back into the hobby and to be able to share positive experiences like this never gets old. I only wish that more children had been able to attend. 2) My game with Celo. That was one of those special games that win or lose you are just happy to be a part of. Celo is an amazing coach with tremendous skills, but more importantly a total class act. He put up 350 yards passing on me in the first half alone and almost 500 for the game. I am still trying to figure out how I won the game. After going to California a few weeks ago and hanging out with Eric Robinson, Ajahaana and Rick Garrison (and now Celo) I know that our beloved hobby would be a better place if we could all get together on a more regular basis. I will be back in California in a few months and my new friend Celo and I will be playing a 2010 CBSMF game which I hope to broadcast. 3) Getting on the board with Jim Davis, Ken Allen, Steve Martin and Mike Turner. In addition to the CBSMF Tournament, the beauty of the MFCA Convention is that it allows you to play whoever you want to. Jim Davis, you truly, once again, were a victim of the box. Had it not been for 3 (yes 3)interceptions I would never would have escaped with a victory. Ken Allen, you totally dominated me in the first half, the second half kick return for a TD got me back in the game which I was also fortunate to win. Your team speed is amazing. 4) To just be in a room with so many talented individuals who brought their custom figures and boards. The progress that has been made in recent years is a testimony to the special people that continue to contribute to take this hobby to a new level. 5) MFCA Hall of Fame Ceremonies - The committee did another great job in their selections and Ray Fanara did a fantastic job making the announcements. Sitting there during the ceremonies made you feel like you were truly a part of something very special. 6) I thought the rules meeting before the CBSMF tournament began was also very memorable. For the first year of the CBSMF, while playing in the Shootout rule system, in many instances there were Regional differences in how some of the rules were interpreted or actual variations in game play. For all the coaches to sit down and go through things in an organized manner without any disagreements as to how things should be done was for me a sign of progress. I would also like to congratulate Mike Robertson on his championship - you deserved it and also congratulate Greg Hardmon for making it to the final game. Those two guys came into the tournament with big targets on their back and both made it to the Championship game. Also congraulations to Doug S. for making it to the final 4 and giving Greg a run for his money. Also a special shout out to Bob Slate (Artlax) for his continued contributions. Bob, although not a part of the CBSMF this year, jumped in and helped ref games and keet stats. I do not think that he even took his team out to play. Joe G |

Every moment...
was a memorable one. I wish there was a way for me to categorize which moment was better but they all were so special...
Seeing Joyce Rogers was the most heart felt moment of the tournament for me. When she was acknowledge by the MFCA during the induction ceremony and received a standing ovation, I choked up big time! WE LOVE YOU JOYCE!!! Spending time with Michigan Joe. Now I've spent some time with Michigan Joe in the past but it was not like this. This guy is a genius! Brilliant EF mind! Listening to my old man "Reginald Rutledge" sing the National Anthem. I told you all that he could sing! Meeting the Great Lakes Gang! They have got to be the model for EF Leagues. This league is fantastic!!! I'm talking about high quality men, high quality coaches, high quality all the way around! No better group of guys in the game. In my opinion, he may not win every game that he plays but Simmie Automatic...hands down the absolute best strategist in the game! no doubt about it. Simmie "Tookie" Lassitter has skills! Major skills! Getting to hang out with Jeff Eby...Jeff, please call me! I haven't forgotten about the video. I was wondering if I could record something and send it to you? Jeff is a tireless worker. This man is amazing. If you want it done right then you need Jeff at your event! My Uncle RJ "What's up Nephew" is what he always says when he spots me in the room and then he tops it if with "what you get for me?" That's my man 50 grand! haha. I don't even know what that means but he does. Hanging out with my two best friends in the hobby Doug "Rookie" Shanafelt and Marcelo "Celo". These guys are rediculously funny! Hilarious I might add. I've never laughed so hard in my life. The laughs that I shared with these two guys were the best laughs I have ever had in my life. I love you two guys Visiting the Hall of Fame! It's much smaller than I thought it would be but boy its nice. I blinked and I had been there for hours already! I was really, really nice! If you're a football historian then you definetely have to visit the Hall. Thanks to all for such an amazing time. I can't wait for the DVD!!!

I want to add one other...
thing to my memories.
I must say I love Tookie. I had met Tookie before in Virginia but never really hung around Tookie. First, earlier in the season, Tookie told me how I had brought joy back to him playing the game. He said he was like a kid all over again because the style of play made him want to play again. He even challenged his own league to explore these rules openly. Then, Tookie took it upon himself to poke fun at my stuttering on TV in front of the nation and his league. They got a big kick out of that. So did I! Then, in Ohio, on our trip over to the Stearns Center, he used an analogy of a woman teasing her man with my wife present and G Hardmon. My wife, being from the streets too, could only crack up as we all did. Then, when Tookie was getting ready to get into an intense game of MF, I hollered out "Tookie, I need you". He looked as ********ed as anyone could and he just looked at me and shook his head and said, "Reg, I swear, if it was anybody else, I would....". I've not hung around Tookie much but he probably would have been one of my 'boyz from the hood when I grew up in south Memphis running the streets. Guys like him, I relate to well and think the world of them. Just hanging with him was a memory I will always hold on to. Reg |
