Default WHAT MORE VALUBLE TO YOU, BASE OR FIG, CHECK IT OUT

COACHES,

Depending on who you are and what your doing. What's more valuble in your estimation.

I was on the miggle site looking at bases and said to myself, what am i thinking. Now, in the Mpfl system thee is no need for ttc bases. You dont not have to have brute strength in the mpfl, plus you direct your players via stops. I always brought bases that had the rookie/ttc combo. So i just looked at the rookie bases. For $5 measly dollars you get 24 bases. A whopping $10 you get 48 bases (a whole team). For $100 you get 480 bases. How much is that per base ? I have spent $100 and got back maybe 5 to 15 great looking custom figures. 480 compared to 5 to 15 customs. For $200 you got close to 1000 bases. So what is more valuble in this scenario.

In another scenario, if you had 22 unpainted non custom stock figures. You also have a package of 24 to 36 bases. What should be be the higher valued item ?

$100 gets you 480 bases, wow, an eye opener !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default It depends!

Dre, you'll probably get several different perspectives on this one. I say it depends. If you are more serious about playing (i.e. league and tournament play) then I'd imagine you'd choose bases. If you are more artistic or just love working on customs then I'd say figures would be more important to you. Some guys could care less about how beautiful their team looks as long as it performs during game time. Others may enjoy playing but it's the building of the team, painstakingly giving each individual figure/player it's own flair that turns them on.

It depends.

As a professional freelance modeller/designer, I'm often facing this type of comparison. IMHO, excepting material (paint, decals, figures or modelling paste) there is important 2 things you'll pay when you buy a custom figure (or a custom scenery, etc...or any hand crafted stuff) :

the expertise of the modeller
the time amount spent on the project

So the price can vary a lot, and can sound fair or unfair, depending of the client and the modeller expertise

So finally for me a customized fig is more valuable than factory bases. BUT if the bases are pro tweaked, again the "2 important things" has to be considerated on the final price.

Default Balance

Since I enjoy playing as well as creating, I try to keep a balance with my purchases for bases and figures. In your case, I would pay $100 for the 480 bases. Obviously the custom figures that you bought are not enough to match the amount of bases. So I would scale back the number of custom figures that were purchased. I would put more money into stock figures in an effort to match the base amount.

In my mind, 48 bases are not enough to put teams through camp because there will be bases that will not make the team at all. Therefore, more bases will be needed to make up for the losses.

Post the bases baby

you can purchase a awesome looking figure but if he is on a so-so base its not really gonna help your team, but if u have a regular figure on a very good speed base its gonna open up so many posibilities.

Default HOW MANY BASES /

COACHES,

How many bases would you guess you go through to complete an entire roster of lets say 50.

!) some bases go 30 yards before turning

2)some bases go 75 yards before turning.

I can see where they both can be utilized. But when you see bases that can do at least that, DO YOU SAY THAT'S IT, YOUR ON THE TEAM. OR DO YOU DIG AND DIG TRYING TO FIND SOMETHING BETTER.
Is it worth it trying to find a base that can take it to the house as opposed to going 75 yards. lets face, all you have to do is be on your own 25 yard line and that base that goes 75 yards is your house taker.
I also think a great coach can take a mediocre tweaked base set and turn that team into something special.

***SO ARE YOU SAYING, YOU CAN GO THROUGH A MAJORITY OF THE 480 BASES TO BUILD 1 TEAM ? IF SO, MAN THATS WORK !!!!!

Default Number of Bases

No I am not saying that 480 bases are for one team. That amount of bases will cover a number of teams. The number of players on a team will determine how many teams will get based. My teams are usually made up of 30 players. 480 bases will cover 16 teams, but all of those bases will not make a team and soundly compete. The number of bad bases varies from base to base. If all you care about is getting a base that moves, then you will use all 480 bases.

Dre,
I went thru about 150 bases to put together my Raider squad of 100 players. I went thru 70 bases to put my 53 man Notre Dame squad together. The best value for your money IMO are the "Miggle Proline" square and rounded front. I didnt destroy any of them and they all made my Notre Dame squad, mostly on offensive and defensive lines. Where I do go thru more bases is at the "Skill" positions..I.E QB's, RB's LB's WR's and kickoff teams.

Bases are a dime a dozen. I can always find another base to use. But where am I going to get another Muckman, Billy Bob or 2 Cents???
