PLEASE EXPLAIN THE PRE CUT DECALS
Coaches,
please explain the pre cut decals for a moment. I UNDERSTAND THE HELMET LOGO END OF IT. BUT, 1) ARE THE LEG, JERSEY, AND HELMET STRIPES PRE CUT. ? 2)ALSO, THE NUMBERS, We all know we jump around on the sheet cutting out numbers as we go. SO HOW DOES THIS WORK ? Im assuming you cut out an entire row, BUT WHAT IF THERE ARE A FEW NUMBERS IN THAT ROW YOU DONT NEED . HOW DOES THIS WORK ? Thanx Mantaraydre

if you don't decal already, no amount of explaining will help you.
basicly, if you dropped the whole sheet in water, all the decals will come off and look like you cut them all......... |

What!
K-Lo,
I'm with Dre on this one. Suppose you don't need all of the numbers? Most of us use approx half to two thirds of a sheet. Some prefer to decal some now, some later. If I have to cut out only what I need then what's the advantage of pre cut decals?

LISTEN TO SETROIT CHILD
K-lo,
Listen to detroitchild, that's exactly what i am getting at. many coaches dont decal everything all in one day. You cut as you need. So your basically saying leave everything in the water until your ready for it. what if i only needed numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 , 9, 11 for decaling tonight. What happens to 2,4,6,8,10. I've decaled plenaty of players, i never follow a sequence of numbers, i can decal a player with number 90 and the next player could be # 58. I always jump around the sheet. So that's why im asking how does this work. THE HELMETS ARE SIMPLE, ITS THE SAME EXACT LOGO OVER AND OVER. THANX MANTARAYDRE

Dre and others:
The beauty of pre- cut decals is that you DON'T HAVE TO to trim around complex shapes. Which is especially helpful for pant leg stipes (and a big time saver). But you will still need to use the exacto knife to cut helmet stripes and the like to the length you need. I still cut the numbers I am not using as needed. Also, with a good decal sheet you can re- use the decals you didn't apply. Just let them dry and soak'em later as needed.

For precutted decals , just do what you do usually : cut what you need on the sheet, and put it in water. The biggest advantage of precuted decals is that you can cut very roughly around the decals you want, then in water the precutting will separate smoothly the things needed, properly.
In slot cars I use often precutted decals. You gain a lot of time, since to make good clean cuts it takes a lot of time. The only issue with precutted decals is that generaly you'll have a little transparent border around the logo/stripes/whatever. When you glue it on the figure/car or wathever, it may be visible. In modelling, we call that silvering. To avoid this issue, you can use decals products in modelling brands ranges, or simply use a little Future (dipping the decal in it, or add future in the decals water). Carefull with future since the "futurized" decal will sticks fast on the figure (even if you can remove it putting some water on it). Personnaly, I don't like when I have to cut decals myself, or only numbers and "square" things. If i add to cut stripes by hand, I prefer to paint it. hope it helps. |

Pre cut decals does not eliminate the need to cut decals as you need them. But they sure do make it easier, especially if you are completing a full squad. We are SPOILED that there is access to some vary good decals. Not to knock anyone else who makes them, but Mike Beal and B-Nutt's decals are OUTSTANDING....
I got B-Nutt's NY Giants Pre- cut decals and they were FANTASTIC. The white's are VERY bright (you would be surprised the difference it makes...) and they include (pre-cut!), the small helmet numbers. The red for the white jersey was dead on. Now I hear even more teams (and college) are on the horizon. Are you kidding me? Awesome..... It makes you want to paint that team just because the decals are out...... Painting is great and I can paint (I used to use ink and quils to outline in the days before decals), but with a good set of decals, you can do more players and they will be uniform, detailed, colorful, and fantastic.....

THANX
COACHES,
THANX FOR THE X-SPLO-NAY Im going to get some. I have one more quesh. Sometimes TWO TONE NUMBER just dont quite capture the TWO tone. Same with names. Decal master had the best two toning system out there. But now, with beenutt's pre cuts, you guy's say the coloring is alot more vibrant. So, do the 1)dolphins three tone numbers show up nicely on the jersey's 2) Does the bears numbers look nicer ** etc etc How well do the names show up on the jerseys ? Thanx Mantaraydre

Beenut's pre cut decals are of amazingly good quality in my opionion. In addition the "pre cut" design is much easier to use (especially for leg stripes, small helmet details, logos, and shoulder numbers. The Bears and Dolphins are fantatic sets, extremly colorful and bold. Spot on. These decals come with my highest recommendation!
