When I see that, I think about a crazy project for 2010 : miniature fantasy football.

It already exists a game named bloodbowl, which is played like a classic wargame (with rulers, dices, etc...). A lot of figures exists for that game : classic metal figures of course, but plastic and resin too, but all in the same (more or less) scale we play MF.

Some players (see the attached pics) play it on stadiums, like we do with electric MF.

So why not creating a vibrating gameboard, with the same particular field lines, and fantasy graphics ! With a little adaptation of the Bloddbowl rules to fit the real action of electric MF, and special rules too using boxes or dices (magic, etc...). It should be really cool, especially with a complete stadium, elven cheerleaders, blood and guts !

I keep the idea for the next year...

Default Wow!

I didn't realize that the Bloodbowl game had so many accressories! Their stadium looks like a castle! Man that is awesome.

I tried to get into Warhammer and had a start on a Dwarf army but just couln't get into it. I need the sound of the board and the movement of the players. I always believed that Miniature football had the capacity to as successful as Warhammer...

Question is why not!? Perhaps its the fantasy element or the equipment and the perception that the players cannot be controlled or a universal set of rules.

Anyhow, thanks for sharing these pictures!

Behind Warhammer there is a BIG (I mean, really BIG) company, very very clever on their marketing approach, and with big possibilites of advertisement. Add good quality products, and It certainly helps a lot to make the brand and products range popular.

ANyway, the accessories you see on the pics are made from scratch. As far as I know, for bloodbowl only a cardboard gameboard exists. But I'm pretty sure there is something to do with that concept or universe...

Before 2010, I'll make my second gameboard, sort of 1.1 version (I'll improve the design I made for the 49ers board). On 2010, I'll be able to make another board, and why not imagine some innovation here, integrating fantasy in the concept of electric football ? Making scenery and dioramas for fantasy miniatures is my job, so I guess I should be able to create something interesting...and perhaps it will help to make a bridge between "classic" tabletop gaming and MF.

we'll see

Are there any Warhammer arms (or any other miniature figure arms) compatible with Electric Football figures (in size and scale)?

Has anyone had success with these types of hybrids?

I'll make pics tomorow, but almost all the fantasy and futuristic figures today are size compatible with MF. THe only issue is that some of them are made in metal. But a lot of fantasy or scifi figs are made from plastic or resin...so perfectly useable in MF. A metal figure can always be useable as a static QB, byt the way.

It's why I think making a fantasy electric football game should be quite easy. Just have to adapt the tabletop game rules to make them more "realtime".

Default HERO CLIX!!!

check out the "hero clix" figures for muscled arms etc.

they are around the right scale and are made of a plastic resin so they would be easier to cannibalize for miniature football than the metal war hammer figs
