Default Bases choice for my team

Hi,

I'm looking for my future bases order I'll do in the next days to fit my detailed 49ers custom team.

I plan to buy ONLY Proline miggle bases, for a simple reason...the good appearance of it

I want my team to be based on indentical bases (because I'm first a modeller, and my work look matters, especially when I spent dozens of hours customizing, sculpting, etc... for that team) but I want to keep good playability, of course.

Proline range sounds good for that, since we can find rookies and TTC, strenght and fast, round and square bases.

Rounded bases sounds interesting for me, since in our rules we play 1base width between players, so rounded bases can be good for defense linebackers, or offense RBs.

Another thing is the fact I play only with my brother or alone, so using one range of base products make everything simplier for now, in an educational purpose (because I'm sure we'll have the same bases and so I'll be able to teach him my very humble tweaking tips).

Basically, I'm thinking about that scheme (22players team) :

OFFENSE :

offensive linemen : square proline "strong" TTC

receivers (x2) : rounded (or square ? I heard they run straighter) proline fast rookie base

half back: I don't know. Strong proline TTC ? Fast proline TTC ? Rookie base ? hybrid-Strong shell + fast dial (or fast shell and strong dial) ? better with a rounded base or square ?

full back : square base I believe, in a HB coverage purpose ? strong TTC ?

tight end : same problem (strong, fast or hybrid ?). Square base seems to be a better choice for multipurpose TE, no ?

quarterback : I don't know...for now we play only stationary QB. But I should test screen pass and stuff like that one day...

DEFENSE

defensive line : rounded strong ttc bases for offense line penetration

cornerbacks : rookie fast bases ? TTC fast base ? square or round ?

linebackers : I don't know !

safeties : I don't know too

Any help (remember, only miggle proline range) will be appreciated

Dimitri

Default Personally...

...I wouldn't use the Proline TTC bases unless I'm removing the dials to use on Miggle TTC bases for strength or a speed/strength combo. I'm sure I'll get some disagreement from others on here about this.

Hi Don, thanks for interest

I readed a lot of things on proline bases, especially TTC. SOmeones says that that bases are good, others says they are bad, other ones says that we have to modify it to make it run, etc...

The only proline base I heard anyhting but good feedback is the strong proline rookie base. All the other ones obtained mixed feedbacks.

Personaly, I don't care if my proline based team will not be as good as a first run polo green base or whatever, since my only point of reference is myself and my brother (who is referencing on me too ).

the only questions are :

can I make a decent (playable) team on proline only bases

what proline base for each field position (see the first post)

thanks

Yes you can BUT I'm of the belief that you have to be able to tweak well to get the Proline TTC's to perform the way you'd like.

what proline base for each field position (see the first post)

This varies from coach to coach (yeah Rip...I said coach). It depends on the base. I'd put strong straight fronts on my O-line, corner backs, strong safety, full back, and perhaps my tight end. I'd put strong/fast round fronts on my half back, wide receivers, D-line, most line backers. Keep in mind that this is not a hard rule...just a guideline. In the end it's a combination of the base and figure that performs the way you want it regardless of base type. If you can get the Proline TTC's to do what you want (I've seen Norbert do it but I'm still struggling with them) then by all means use them.

thanks

thank you Don.

I guess if you has difficulties to tweak the TTC bases, as a newbie, it should be pretentious to hope to success where you failed.

That topic join a little the one I did on TTC bases use...

See that vid (2008 tournament with "big names" in it)

http://vimeo.com/5830025

They often use proline rookie bases. Even for their offensive line...but very few TTC bases, in fact. Not speaking of stacking I don't use, they use the same pivot method on lines I'm using.

So...perhaps it's the key ? start with a team with only proline rookies bases (square/rounded and strong/fast assortement) since people seems to be very happy with them, and try to learn how to tweak proline ttc bases on spare time ?

thanks,

dimitri
