Super-Pro-line Debate

So do we really have a "New" super pro-line base? All I can say is that I have tweaked a "New" rounded front super-proline and it can play in any competetive league. I will soon be getting a new square front super-prolines and I'll see for myself if its as good as the rounded front. As I read "kingpin's" post on free base tweaking I couldn't help but chuckle when the thread went the way of whoose the better tweaker, east or west, and my base is better than yours, who really cares? Funny thing to me here is, it's not who the better tweaker is, or are these new "Super Pro-lines" better than the first run bases. There will NEVER be another production of the "FIRST" run pro-line bases, but we might very well have a base now that can play and compete in any league across the country, and for that we should be very thankful. As we all know 1st,2nd, and 3rd run bases will cost you $$$, anywhere from $4 to $15 per base depending on whether it is a rounded front or square front and whether it is #1,2, or 3 run base, funny how the economics of "supply and demand" work. I for one will not pay that price for one base, so I'm excited that "Miggle" may have come up with a "New" pro-line base that can be competetive, and quite frankly the "New" rounded fronts that I recieved tweaked up quickly and nicely, and can COMPETE. So bottom line to me is if "Miggle" has come up with a base that's almost as good if not as good as the 1st,2nd, or 3rd runs,(and the rounded front I tweaked), beat the 2nd and 3rd run base, then this is a very positive step towards coaches being able to get a new "proline" base at a very reasonable price. To me it will be worth paying $11 a pack verses $4 to $15 per base for 1st,2nd, or 3rd run bases, but this is only my opinion. Others opinions may differ.

I agree, it should not become a ***** match as to who is best tweaker. Does anyone really know on any given day who using emperical data to measure is the tweaker. Darn, they're all GOOD at what they do !!!!

One thing I would like to add, from a "newer" tweaker was it not determined the 5th run, if I could them that, that came out last Jan/Feb were deemed competitive and were close to a 1st, 2nd, 3rd run...

They worked to a competive result for me, meaning I was not being pushed down the field even in my first game ever played last March so they are certainly acceptable.

Once I sold all my worldly possesions (joking for effect, sorta) and paid $100 for 10 1st run dials and $100 for 10 1st run rookie strong straight fronts, did I realize they were in fact better. A stupid financial decision as I look back as that is money I took from my family to feed my obsesion...


The biggest difference was they were easier and quicker for a new guy to tweak at least this new guy.

If the new prolines are even 10% closer to the 1st runs and then it's up to the individual to make a decision to pay $10/11 for 12 or $100 for 10 1st runs.

Those are decisions that one must figure out on their own, IMHO. If I don't see any differance I'll obviously continue to buy the 5th runs as I have in the past for, what is it, $8 and just work harder to tweak them better and keep working w/the guys who help me (not mentioning names, so no shots are taken at them), y'all know who you are, to improve my skills.

I will take Vince up on his offer, my bases should be here hopefully by Monday. By doing that I can see what he is doing and then compare with mine...just another way of learning and testing/improving my skills. After that ALL decisions are on ME.



Just one more thought, if I could improve my passing from 50/60 % and pass more and coach better, I probably wouldn't need any 1st runs. I have been beaten by many that can hit a pass >90/95%, often 100% and probably don't worry much about 1st run bases, like Brian Redmond vs. Charles Lane in the Dixie Championship last year. Niether missed a pass, one was a 95 yard in the air for a TD on the last play of the 1st half.

Just my thoughts for what's worth...

to get some of the top tweakers to do some bases for me, but, in this economy, it's one area I'm looking to try for myself and save some $$. And, although I really would like to play in a tournament some time, I'm more inclined to go solitaire. I may YET get some just to get an idea of strength and speed for comparison.

It's not a debate. Those bases are good enough to compete with any base period. There is not such a considerable drop off that I would pay 10 bucks for one when I can get eleven for a dollar more and compete. It may require a little more work and detail but it should if your teams are competing at a high level.

Joe, your problem is the same as mines. I would probably have won three Great Lakes, at least one or two Miggles if I could pass better. Talentwise, not a problem.

I told the truth regarding the bases in my initial post on that thread. I got a call from a coach who disagreed. I feel that I proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, my point on their field. I tweaked the base right there for the most part. I attempted to bring a rational unbiased approach to the merits of the base.

So far I have tweaked three rounded fronts. One noseguard, one receiver, and one tight end. I screwed up the tight end but the noseguard and receiver would easily start on most all the teams in this league if the coach doesn't have a bias. I repeat, these bases are good. I don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks because they will find out soon enough.

I agree time will tell, why people are in a rush to say good or bad means nothing to me .

I will see when I get some myself.

people will see when they play in tourny them self.

They will look up and see a match from a darker 1st run or 2nd run vs. the newer lighter super pro base and judge for themselfs .

Time will tell all should just judge for themself I repeat.

Who cares that much on who gives the OK Iit is for you to give the OK.

How about a couple pics of the new bases and since many are singing their praises some video to show their stuff. I am surprised with all the talk here that we haven't seen either pics or video of these new bases - guys are always posting pics and vid clips. Or is it just talk???

You said everything with that statement. Cheaper prices means more coaches, good performance means interesting plays.

One thing I like in miniature football is that the needed budget stills very tight. 2-3 bags of bigmen, 50USD of assorted bases, a used 620board and you can start to play. New comers HAVE to know you don't necessary need a 200-500 usd custom team and 500usd pro tweaked to have fun and compete. As a newbie myself, I succeeded to tweak decent bases (6-7seconds runner on a 42" big board for example), with no doubt not as good as a "pro" can do, but really OK to play in good conditions, using classic stock bases.

Since my other hobby is slot racing, you always see people paying for 200-500 USD pro "tweaked" tjet chassis to be the best, but a lot of people just want good all around stock and cheap chassis to compete equally, on the driving skills and not on the size of the wallet. People interested in slot racing know what I mean. There is some room for everybody.


So the production of a new good products range like the new super proline should be welcome as a very good new, no matter the fact it is better or worst than that or that, no ?

But really the best thing is that everyone is buying Miggle's newest product, and that is what's really important.

Artlax, instead of having everyone post pictures or videos, why don't you invest $10 for your hobby and see and do it for yourself????? This is your hobby, invest your time into it, it will make you a greater player. Good luck
